Very nice. One possible flaw:
I can't get the link of the updated version to work, so don't know if you changed this part yet or not, but if you didn't:
Take the quote from the larger quote of:
"[....], who were recognized as citizens in any one State of the Union..."
This quote does not make sense. It was either miscopied from the decision, or it was copied correctly but never made sense to begin with.
If it was copied incorrectly from the opinion, then perhaps it should have said "..., who were *NOT* recognized as citizens...", or "..., who were recognized as citizens in *NO* one State of the Union", or something altogether different - I just don't know. I do know it's nonsensical as written (unless I'm missing something).
Now, if that's what the opinion read exactly, then I'd say leave it as is, because a "[sic]" would lead to more confusion to the average reader than it's worth.
