From this list- what would you carry in a vehicle safe?

I also have 2 trucks, Mrs. Fl-NC has a car. She carries a LCP, I normally carry a shield 9, or a LCP when I go to the gym- because I can fit the LCP in the small pocket on my shorts that is actually to keep a mouth guard in. Each vehicle has a lockbox, and in each lock box is a fully loaded Glock 19. In addition, in each vehicle has a kydex holster and 2 spare loaded mags for the Glock. The Glocks are there in the event something unforseen happens or may be imminent where "upgrading" to a larger gun with a higher capacity may be desired.
I'm assuming you split your time between Florida and North Carolina? You don't have a problem with rust leaving guns in a lockbox in your car?

The 686 four inch. It is a friend indeed when crap hits the fan. Not to mention, it goes bang for every pull of the trigger on a loaded round.

Seems like the 686 would be a decent fit in the Jeep. It’s enough gun to do anything you need in the woods. Worst case scenario you can take medium game at medium range for survival, and it would be adequate defensively for black bear, coyote, mountain lion, hog, etc.

The every day car the sensible choice is to double down on your daily carry. If 1 is good then 2 is much gooder. Mags, ammo, and spare parts should the situation ever get extremely dire. Primary thought being that you are going to be most familiar with it and the safe in the car would have space to store several extra loaded mags.

I like the double down idea, such as two P229’s, both two barrel sets, and lots of mags.

None…
If I have a handgun, its on me. Or Im heading to the range with several without stops along the way.

Leaving a handgun in a safe in a vehicle will eventually see it broken into and lost, imo.

The wrong person will eventually find out your vehicles have gun safes and they arent left empty. This will lead to them being broken into, probably multiple times if they are successful the first time.

Good luck!

If I’m carrying a 9mm or smaller as my CCW I’d want something bigger in my car as my SHTF gun. Personally I’d go with a 45 ACP. My personal SHTF gun I keep in my car is a Glock 21 with 4 mags. It’s a beat up gun that functions flawlessly so having it bouncing around in the car doesn’t bother me.

Have noticed more and more vehicles have an accessory console safe as an option now,
Ditto.
And, too many of those "safes" are just simple lock boxes with no better "pick security" than a TSA lock. The factory "safe" for my Escape, $365 before s/h/t can be opened with just the tag end of a long ziptie. It's a four button combo and the latch can be reached through the button slots with a standard pick. Not the sort of thing to fill a person with the warm-n-snugglies.
And, then you have to cope with the fact that you can be seen fussing with the center console which is its own complication in a busy parking lot which is potentially full of less-good people.

I carry guns, not a gun. I have four pockets. But I have a truck gun also and knives. Been through dozens of Florida hurricanes since 52, you learn or you will die.

I have an assortment of handguns. The one that I carry most of the time concealed is a S&W MP 9MM Shield.

I would put that G35 in your everyday driver and the G27 in the occasional grocery getter, put a minimum of 3 spare mags with each, although I would bump that number up to 6 personally. Not because you're going to need it for an epic shootout, I just arbitrarily picked 6 for me. Somewhere around 120rds of ammunition seems like a pretty good minimum standard to me for whatever reason. Of course you could put a 50/100 rd pack of .40 ammo in each vehicle as well.

The P365 is a great carry gun from everyone i talk to, but for a gun that is stowed away for that who the heck knows survival emergency, the Glocks are more of a duty weapon and the .40 is a nice potent cartridge as well. Not to say the 9mm isn't, i don't even own a .40.

Eta: The Glock is one of the only guns i think I would feel OK about just leaving somewhere that it could be exposed to elements, not like out in the dirt but in an unheated garage, pole barn, Sally port, shed, vehicle, etc... oil it up and leave it, if it gets a lil oxidation it should wipe off and won't hurt function and it's just not special to me in any regard, if you've seen one you've seen them all and easy to replace for the most part.
