I am hoping to go to the Front Sight school near Las Vegas soon. Can you recommend a place to stay?

Thanks in advance.

A couple of the hotels in that area have special rates for people attending classes there - the FS website has links, I think.

BTW, my best friend went there back in December and was not impressed with the school (he's a retired Maryland deputy sheriff and was the department's firearm instructor). You might want to "google" the school to see what other people think.

I've been to front sight four times. Once for a 4 day defensive handgun course and three time for the 2 day defensive handgun course. I was very impressed and would recommend it to anyone.

xyzpilot, when I attended FrontSight in November 2007, I just camped a few miles outside the gate, hidden from view of the road.

I brought a small tent, but the weather was good and I just ended up sleeping under the stars. Very pleasant, and I saved a lot of gas and driving time. For a variety of reasons, I did not have fires.

Since you seem to be from the UK, the logistics/gear of camping could be a bit more hassle, but there are no permits, fees, etc. It really is free and open desert.

Most of the other people in my class stayed at the casinos in Pahrump.

Have a great time and pay attention. I was impressed with the quality of instruction at FS and learned a lot. Like so many other things, you only get out of it what you put into it.

I stayed at the Saddle West in Pahrump, NV... not too bad and they give a FS discount. Its only about 15 miles away from FS.

FS was a great experience... the regular prices are pretty bloated for what you get, but they have great deals right now on lifetime memberships that are very much worth while. You can get one for the price of 2-3 four-day courses.

Overall its a great facility with excellent trainers and valuable technical curriculum. You will enjoy the experience.

The Saddlewest mentioned above seems to get a lot of their buisness. The hotel does offer a discount for Frontsight class members.
My next class I'm planning on just setting up in my RV outside the front gate. There were several people who had done that at the last class I was at.
