Well, he's getting some good skills training, at least and it doesn't look like he's actually in direct fighting. There's a lot sadder folks in the world in worse conditions. Far, far, worse. All sad, of course. We in "the free world" have things so much easier than we ever admit to ourselves.

With all due respect to the real suffering in Syria, this looks like a series of set up shots of a kid in dirt-makeup.

I seriously doubt that a 10 year old is running a manual lathe making morter shells, and laying under a chassis does not a mechanic make. To think that a 10 year old would be doing *both* really stretches my BS-Meter needle to 11. There's no reason to suspect that he's not following his Dad to work, but... let's be serious.... these are propaganda shots.

i'm with Willie these are propaganda shots.

last picture the 'child' is wearing lipstick and through out the photos his facial smudges are perfect -- the edges are sharp which if the child had got them working they would be layered and blended.

pictures lately seem to be designed to tug at our compassion rather than be worth a 1000 words...much reality is sad enough without being staged.

Ahhh, I thought that was understood! There is no such thing as a published photograph absent of an intended message.

After review, this really has nothing to do with THR's mission.
