I want to find fault in my G26 but I shoot it to well!! After my last range session I've decided that I'll park my Sigs (for a little while) and carry "it" exclusively.

Now, I need to put some proper defensive ammo in the little gun. What has worked best in your G26's??

This is what I use. Should have the desired effect:

I don't know what your experience is, but Glocks seldom have any issues with any ammo. They are designed to feed above anything else. I even saw one feed a dummy round that was placed backward in the magazine for stoppage drills in a pistol class. We had to dismantle the pistol and knock it out with a dowel rod, but it fed it.

I've been using 147gr ammo ever since I started carrying subcompact 9mm handguns. Right now it's usually Remington Golder Saber.

WWB JHPs
or Hornady XTP or whatever acronym they use.
or Gold Dots
or.... etc.

I tend to stick to 147 gr, non+p

I haven't had any problems feeding anything yet.

I like the 147+P HST in my compact 9mm pistols, I don't have a 26, but I do have a 27, and I load that with 180 HST. Same reasons I load my 9mm with 147+P HST, the heavy weight bullets in a caliber lose less velocity from the shorter barrels and are generally still well within their operating parameters at 3.5"of barrel. And the heavier HST weights seem to be the ones that work best in just about every way, from expansion to penetration and even through barriers.

I normally carry Rem factory loaded Golden Saber 124g +P. However, everything I have tried went bang in the G26... WWB 147g Personal Defense, Speer factory Gold Dot 124g +P and 147g, DoubleTap 147g and 124g Gold Dot, Federal HydraShock 124g, etc.

The beauty of the G26 is that it works... every time.

Any decent hollow point should do you just fine. I currently have Federal HST's in my mags. Have had Winchester SXT's as well.

I have yet to find a 9mm round that it won't shoot reliably.

WW Silvertips are the most accurate in mine and give less muzzleflash. I've never found any ammo that would not work in any 9mm Glock.

I agree - any 9mm ammo works in a Glock 26.

I use Golden Sabers also - 147gr.

get whatever your budget can afford for defense ammo.

The 26 is a great pistol!

I found myself in pretty much the same boat. After turning up my nose at Glocks for years, I actually ran 100 rounds though a loaner and found that I actually shot it better than any of the other pistols I own (or owned in the past).

I ended up purchasing one and it's now the only gun I carry anymore and the Glock 34 I purchased with it is my primary home defense gun. About the only thing I plan on changing is swapping out the Glock sights for stom Truglo TFO sights.

As far as ammo, I went with Speer Gold Dot 124gr +P's. I ran 100 rounds each through the 34 and 26 and they functioned 100%. Definitely a hot round compared to the standard range fodder and 115 grain gold dots I've run through it. Recoil was a good bit snappier than normal and probably more than a 27 with Winchester White Box.

I always used Speer Gold Dot 124gr with great results in my 9mm Glocks (before I sold them all).

Federal HST is great too and usually found for a pretty good price if you are comfortable buying ammo online.

I carry Win 115 +P+. The +P+ loads are fearsome to say the least, but they still make 1200 fps+ out of the little barrel. :what:

I CCW RA9TA which is the 127 grain +P+ Winchester LEO load. I used to use the 147 grain Ranger load , but found in the shorter barrel the RA9TA functions even better (than Perfection ?) and hits closer to the sights. My 26 is one of the first to be imported I have put about 3000 rounds thru it with new springs only and 0 malfs and is my favorite every day gun. I sold my 27 - not as good!
