I'd say that pretty much sums up how the world SHOULD work. I'm glad the old guy's ok. Just hope that I can use a shotgun and a walker at the same time when I'm his age.

A shotgun in one hand and guiding his walker with the other. I`m guessing it wasn`t a Colt.:)

"When I can wake up to news like this, I know it's going to be a good day." -- Neal Boortz, Atlanta radio talk-show host, on his radio program this morning.

Boortz started off on this topic, and will probably keep talking about it all morning; listen in to his show on the Internet if you want. He is also thanking Mr. Adams rather profusely.

I'm glad the system works. Maybe he should put one of those "Steal Here Die Here" signs in the window. If it didn't offend people, he could leave a chalk outline on the floor :)

It is inspirational to hear such a story. I only hope that when I am his age I'll have such a strong will to persevere. He is an inspiration to all young and old. The world might be safer if we all had his courage.

    Jeff Cooper:

Who among us would quarrel with that?

The Brits, however, now lack that alternative from what I hear.

    They have my sympathy.

'Scuse me guys, but does anyone else think he should get a walker that is easy to use and have guns mounted on it? Laser sighted with a fire switch. Might be much easier than holding the shotgun in one hand & trying to walk with the walker with the other.

I was thinking of an "Amigo" -battery powered vehicle. When sitting , and taking a break . Allows both hands free to shoot, run'em over for good measure.:D

Police have not said if they intend to file charges in the Thursday night robbery.

Oh, let them try, just let them try:evil: :D

AP ran a photo of him in my city's newspaper. Tough, old bird.

The story said that he switched to a shotgun after a robbery a couple of years ago. "You can't do much with a .38." Well, there you have it. Wisdom from someone who knows!

Good for Adams -- a true American hero! :D
And a lot of perps think because they've picked on a woman that she's weak. Guns are great equalizers!

I love the "twofer" comment. Talk about sweeping the store out! :neener:

This old guy is a hero in my book.

He examplifies one of my favorite bumper stickers:

    Fight crime
    Shoot back

This is the second shooting by JC. The one a couple years ago he got shot in the rear and still managed to kill his attacker.

At work one of or employees was fired up. Talking about how great it was and that he wished the store owner had got them all to save the tax payers money. The guy that sits by him was."why did he have to shoot them...couldn't have called the cops..." :banghead: The other guy, who is from Nigeria, responded that all the cops are good in that type of situation is for mopping up and making reports.

I hate to say it but in the past few years robbers seem to be shooting their victims regardless of whether or not they co-operate. I wouldn't take the chance.

By the way Kim'er, also Atlanta talk radio host is getting JC a new shotgun since JC's was confiscated (though it will be returned).

The second article with the "No need to let something like that live." quote can be found: HERE

    J. C. Adams has enough quotes to fill a buncha signatures.

A follow up story can be found: HERE

I'd say that J. C. Adams has enough quotes to fill up a whole bunch of sig lines.
