I visited the local Gander MT today in Rochester NY. After picking up all the reloading supplies I was looking for (Brass, primers, lead, etc), I could not find the powder. I figured they had it tucked away somewhere secure maybe. The sales clerk informed me that they were the only G. M. store that could not sell gun powder due to the laws in Monroe cty NY??!!??
They have ISLEs of loaded ammunition, TONS of primers but they can't sell gun powder??!! ***? The weird thing is that there are several mom/pop gun stores nearby that all sell powder.
As a side note, the really funny part was that their cash register rejected my gander mt master card as 'invalid card number' both swiped and keyed in. The card worked fine several weeks ago to buy an O/U Beretta. The cool part is that the LL Bean Visa worked just fine.
