Well for me, trying to get better accuracy is the hobby for me. I enjoy playing around with trying to get more accuracy and to understand how these various parts of the equation impact the final result. That is what I consider fun. I don't really care about hunting, personal defense, collecting................ I shoot mainly because I enjoy tinkering with things to get better accuracy.
 
Does the Gen Pro operate strictly on batteries or can it be used with AC as well?

I've had mine for over 6 years and am perfectly happy with it. Yes, no air movement because the scale is sensitive. I bought the 250 to replace my Dillon electronic scale that literally died two weeks after the guarantee ran out. I had used the Dillon scale six times. I've never had my 250 give a false reading.
