she is a well know 1911 fan and i suspect that video was rigged to make a 1911 reassurance video.

or i could be totally wrong and the gen 4 glocks aren't very reliable.

but the fact is when that glock malfunctions she seems so happy. on the second ftf she can barely contain herself.

another fact is my gen 3 glock 19 has never malfunctioned. not even once. im at the 1,000 round mark. i actually try to make it malfunction with crap steel case ammo. i can't even limp wrist it no matter how lightly i hold it.

on the other hand i have seen many 1911 malfunction at the gun range. but they always have a good reason. :uhoh:

I've never seen a shooting range with huge columns downrange like that.

We all know the rule...if a Glock malfunctions anything is to blame but Glock. In this case, it's obviously a conspiracy by the evils of the 1911 coalition.

Yes, I have proof of the conspiracy against the Glock. It does not originate from the John Browning 1911 movement but from the TV industry prop providers. You see, most TV prop guns are Glocks. It appears that they want to create this conspiracy so the industry will then have to buy new 1911's and then bill the rich TV and movie industry producers. Just look around the facts are obvious man..........

There is a known problem with the Gen4 9mm Glocks. Glock used the same recoil assembly for the .40S&Ws and the 9mms and it turns out that it is too stiff for the 9mms which causes reliability issues in some of the Gen 4 9mms.

I've heard from a couple of reliable sources that Glock intends to release (or may have already released by now) a 9mm version of the Gen4 recoil assembly to remedy the issue.

how would one know which recoil assembly is in the gun before buying it?

Gen 4 Glock 9MM "ISSUES"

I bought a G19 Generation 4 9MM Glock not too long ago and since have put hundreds and hundreds of rounds through it without any issues other than the damn thing being extremely accurate, feels fantastic in my hand, light recoil (I guess that over built spring I read about earlier helps here) and light as a feather when fully loaded. I may have put more than a thousand through it now that I think about it.
Now I like 1911 45 ACP autos. Beautiful firearms. But that doesn't/shouldn't take away from, or make the Glock any more or any less of a fine pistol.
So as far as I'm concerned I going to begin bypassing conversations that are centered around my 1911 is bigger and better than your Glock or vice versa. They're both fine pistols, it's just what you prefer. Really isn't it kind of foolish to spend our God given time debating this? To me it is. They're both fine pistols, each with nuances specific to themselves.
By the way I also have a G30 45ACP that's a tack driver and with it's 10+1 round capacity, compact size and ease of concealed carry. Well now I've got the best of both worlds. A 45acp in a compact damn near bullet proof Glock!

From what I have heard, Gen4 G19s have been pretty much flawless and come with a different recoil spring assembly installed (marked with a "3").

Any gun can and will malfunction, that is the nature of the beast. Learn to clear it and move on.

She needs to work on her shooting, what I saw of it was pretty poor.

I don't know the answer to that. You could call Glock and ask. 770-432-1202

OR, if you already have a 9mm Gen4 and are experiencing difficulties you can try a couple of other options. You can use hotter ammo, or you can lock the slide open and leave it that way for a week or two. I've heard of at least one person using the latter approach successfully.

Ah... I see I cross-posted with Reaper4206969 who has the best answer.
