I recently was surprised when the 158 gr LSWC+P ammo I ordered from Georgia Arms turned out to be LSWCHP+P. I have been shooting the Federal FBI load in my Model 10 and wanted to find a practice round that I would be able to buy in quantity at an affordable price. Georgia Arms advertises this load on their web site as 158 gr LSWC+P, and it is priced pretty attractively so I decided to order a few hundred rounds. When I opened the package I discovered the GA load is basically the old FBI load. It shoots to the same POA in my Model 10 as the Federal ammo and is priced significantly lower. I will probably still keep a supply of the Fereal stuff on hand but the GA ammo will likely become a regular purchase.

I'm posting this simply for folks who like to shoot .38 Special and might be looking for something similar. If you were to just visit the Georgia Arms site you would get the impression they offer a non-HP version of the round.

I'd like to see some tests in gel from this. it seems the fbi load can really be iffy with expansion sometimes, especially out of short barrel guns through fabric, so much so that the hardness of the lead seems to be something reasonable to look at. It'll be neat to see how it compares to say the remington version of that load.
