It is still stupid and in my opinion un-constitutional ( I am very definitely not a lawyer ) to forbid CCW in places of worship unless it is against the wishes or policies of that particular institution.

To me this infringes on the Right of Freedom of Religion. Would anyone agree with me?

I agree Jelly Jar but this bill gains us a lot of ground & as long as Sonny Perdue is Governor I don't think a bill allowing church carry could make it through without getting vetoed. We still have a long way to go but we are gaining ground & this bill was a big step in the right direction.

I think this bill also removes the permit requirement for open carry. Not surprisingly the local news media hasn't really covered it's passage but I'm looking forward to O/C.

you could always join the GA State Defense Force you get to hold your old rank and then your are exempt its 100% volunteer so no remuneration is involved...
