My new Shaw barrel in 270 has arrived and i am looking to install it in the coming two weeks however i need some input as to headspacing. So i have heard that a standard action gauge set labeled 30-06 works for all of the cartridges in that family and need to know if that is correct. If not where can i locate a 270 specific gauge as to not ruin this off the bat.

You did not mention a reamer. Does Shaw sell it with the promise that you can just screw it in and use a headspace gauge to set headspace? Every bolt action barrel that I'm aware of will most likely require a reamer to set chamber depth for proper headspace after torquing the barrel into the receiver. There are ways to ream before installing the barrel, but most won't have the necessary skills or measuring tools to do that.

You can request a deep chamber from Shaw as opposed to the short, But no, they don't guarantee any kind of direct fitment on shouldered barrels.
On nutted barrels they offer full depth chambering.
