...got a new Dillon powder measure recently and the powder is sticking to the clear plastic sides. In addition, when it drops powder a portion of the charge sticks to the inside of the case mouth.

I tried touching a cold water pipe (ground) to the unit without success.

I'm out of clothes dryer sheets right now; is there any other method to get rid of the static charge?

Thx...

Yes, you can drift some Static Guard down into the hopper, just make sure it is dry before you put powder in it.

All three of my powder measures suffered from this, static guard helped a lot, but after they got a good coat of graphite in them from the powder, most of the problem went away. I won't clean mine because of static.

They seem to be a pain when their new.

Sometimes I use a car battery to magnatize a screwdriver, when I don't want it magnatized anymore I throw it on the floor.

So...throw it on the floor.

Graphite. Get some from the hardware store, and give the inside a good coat. Just don't let it build up anywhere or pile on the bottom of the hopper. That's what I did on my LPPM and it worked great. It's like running 50 lbs of heavily graphited powder through it, but without the wait. :) By Ron-co!

You can try exhaling through your mouth on it. The exhaled air will be warm and have humidity. Using a damp (not soaking wet) cotton rag (old T shirt) wipe it down and wait. With any luck the static will dissipate.

It would be faster to drive to the dollar store and buy some dryer sheets than it would be for us to figure out another way to fix it.

A dryer sheet works by spreading a thin wax coating - if you have some paste car wax, you could probably accomplish the same effect, but doing it would not be as easy as going to walmart and getting some dryer sheets

Just fill it completely with powder, dump it out repeat. Wipe it with a paper towel to smear the powder dust around.

Say 10, Hail Dillons and all will be well.

Graphite down into the innards, then, remove the plastic hopper and wash it with water and dish washing liquid. DO NOT RINSE. Let it dry. Static will be better or gone.

Static Guard spray from the grocery store.

It not only stops all that powder measure foolishness.

But it keeps packing peanut ducks in a row.
It keeps your truck seats from knocking your shorts off in the winter.

And stops that Clinging Nylon Slip problem I have when shuffling my feet on a curled up cat in the evenings.

I did the washing part of this with my Redding when it was new, and it did work. Time for another wash here lately. Be sure you do NOT rinse the soap out, and let it dry.

What's sticking inside the case mouth is probably there from leftover case lube. If it turns out, though, that static is making it stick there, then on top of filling the hopper and dumping as was suggested, run a hopper full through the down tube. However, that powder sticking in the mouth and neck of the case isn't going to bother anything.

I have also used the washing with dish detergent and it works well.
