I was able to spend a little bit a time out at Mac’s Gunworks last week.

I had not to zeroed my 44 Magnum Franken-Ruger. Using some Black Hills ammunition-240 grain JHP.

First two shots at 100 with me shooting from a standing position and the Bog-Gear on the bench were touching.

Other pic is me working my way (slowly moving it to the left) to getting it zeroed at 100 yards.

Center punched the 150 steel by using the Plex/Post at 8x. Puffcake to shoot.
I plan to get my drops out to 250 yards or so in the future. But I will be shooting from a seated position for the further distances.

Man, that’s a cannon!

You’ve hit one fantastic piece of hardware there, it looks like it’ll be a deerslayer out to 250-275 yd easy.

I love the range!! I can’t imagine how nice it is to have a spot like that to exercise the firearms in the safe... I’m stuck with indoor ranges 3/4 of the year because a run to the desert from the mid spring to mid October is a 100+ degree effort of sunburn and futility.

Shooting indoors compared to a beautiful, wide open outdoor spot like that is like riding a stationary bicycle while watching the Tour de France on TV... you get a bit of physical exercise but you’re not exercising the soul...

Stay safe.

Amen to both. I enjoy large revolvers, and I MUCH prefer shooting outdoors to shooting at an indoor range.
