My girlfriend has been asking me since the first of December, since I bought her a Prada purse for her Christmas gift, what I want for Christmas. Flame me all you want but I love designer clothes and leather goods, so she was going to buy me either a Prada laptop bag, a Prada belt, or a Brooks Brothers cashmere 3/4-length jacket. She's really an amazing girl. I've been thinking instead I'd rather have another gun, since I don't really need any of those things. I don't *need* another gun in most peoples perspectives but I know my fellow gun enthusiasts understand :neener:

So anyway, I'm not totally sure what I want! Right now I have a Sig P220, Kel-Tec .380, Colt Anaconda .44 mag, S&W .357 mag, and some others. I want another autoloading handgun. I don't have a 1911 in the stable so I was thinking maybe I'd like one...

If someone was going to buy you an autoloader around the $600-$700 range, what would you want?

In that price range I own 2 guns that I dearly love....

1st pick would be my Browning High Power.....beautiful piece, high capacity and it has history.

2nd would be a Springfield Loaded 1911......same as above

For some reason I really like the BHP over the 1911, but I carry the 1911 more due to the fact it has night sights........either way you cant go wrong.

I see you like Sig and didn't list a hi capacity 9mm. Might want to consider a Sig 226 or 228.
13-15-17 rounds (depending on mags), + 9mm is really cheap to shoot and a lot of fun too.

You could get a Springfield loaded 1911 as someone else said. You have some guns that are not the cheapest to shoot so maybe reloading equipment or something in 9mm so you can shoot more :D

I've thought about getting a 9mm but for some reason I just don't like the caliber, although when I shot my buddies 9mm Glock I was VERY accurate. I'd like something I can carry if I choose to do so, and if I don't feel comfortable with the round I'm carrying it'll really bug me.

About reloading equipment: I really don't have anywhere I could reload, and even if I did I probably wouldn't cause I'm so busy with school.

Sorry man, she doesnt :(

How much more difficult is it to conceal a double stack 1911's vs single stack? I'd feel alot more comfortable with the extra capacity.

You could score a lot more points with her if you chose something that she would like to shoot too.

"Honey, I'd really like a Ruger MKII. I think you'd love shooting it and we could spend so much more time together."

I've got a Springfield Stainless Loaded. Great gun. I'd be my first choice for 1911's

I'd also 2nd the thing about the .22 auto. Lot of fun, accurate, and cheap to shoot. You could both enjoy it.

dude, man cannot live on pistols alone. your list does not include a rifle or shotgun, so what're you some kind of bigot? for that budget you could get a pretty decent ar or an ak and a pump. you NEED a rifle and shotgun.

Colt Python. A gun you need but can't justify. :p (that's what my wife has bought me for christmas, I know it, but she won't let me shoot it til the 25th, bah)

STI Trojan, a very fine 1911, very fine.

But then I agree with the last poster, you do need a rifle and or a shotgun.

so
shotgun:
870 Wingmaster, pretty and darned useful
CZ SxS or O/U, not as useful but darned pretty and better if you play the clay games

rifle:
hmmm, having a tough time here.
you could get any number of nice .22LR's (my fav: Thompson Center Classic semi-auto)
or you could get a nice bolt action .223 for "varmits" (my fav: CZ 527)
or an nice AK clone falls into this frame
or you could get into an AR. I believe bushmasters and some rock rivers will fall into this price range.
a used FAL will be at the top of this price range
ohohohohohohohohh, i've got it.
an M1 garand. can't justify it, but everyone needs one.
yep, that's it.
so, there's your list, tell the wife (and if you havne't married her yet, why not? ) and tell her to get on it, christmas is only a week away.:D

yeah, ask for the moon.

Hey don't appologize about getting her a bag. While looking at a PARA LTC at a gun shop, my wife said, "If you want it get it." So I did. We then went straight to Nordstrom and purchased her a Kate Spade handbag.

At the end of the day, our collective wallet was quite a bit lighter, but we were both happy. She had her bag and I had my carry piece to protect her and her bag! :D But I did tell her that she had to use the bag as long as I used my LTC! ;)

And get yourself a 1911. +1 for Springer for your GF's price range.

Throw in $200 to $300 to the pot and get a 56/50 Spencer- I need, want, gotta have, one of those real bad :D

A 1911 is a must have as is a lever action.

I think you could swing a set with proper budgeting. Say some SASS recreation with the whole outfit added as time goes by. Of course that probably will mean .45 Colts a Winchester and a Coach gun.

A 1911 is an awesome choice. Although, I have fallen in love with Springfields XD line. I have 3 of them so far. Two of them 9MM(3" and 4") and one a .40(3"). Of course now they also have it in .45 acp. .45 gap too if you want that.

Yeah I didn't include rifles or shotguns cause I have the ones I need right now. I have a Bushmaster M4gery, SAR1 AK, Remington M77 in .243, a bunch of .22's, and a couple shotguns. I do plan on getting an 870 sometime in the near future but I can afford one of those on my own. The other thing is I think if I threw in more money it wouldn't be the same to her cause she didn't buy the whole thing for me.

So I'm considering a 1911 from either Springfield or Para. It'd be nice to have a double stack cause I'd like the extra capacity but I'm worried about how much more difficult it would be to conceal. Or maybe I'll ask for an Aimpoint for the M4 and something cheaper, I'm not sure.

Pa-Ra..Pa-Ra..Pa-Rah! Rah-Rah-Rah!!

Para LDA all the way. You will be comfortable with the manual of arms, which is much more revo-like than an SA 1911 is. I love my LDAs--4 at the moment, but looking at a fifth.

God Bless your GF--mine bought me an S&W 66 last Christmas!
