Okay, I was thinking of sight upgrades on a couple of my rifles as well as a potential Christmas gift.
Two questions on these sights.

1. I was thinking of getting a set of sights from my Marlin .357 Mag. Do you like the sights? Did you get the rear sight with the wings or without? I have a Rossi 92 also, but one thing at a time. :)

2. I noticed they also sell a front night sight for an AK. Has anyone tried this? If I am not mistaken, elevation adjustments would need to be in full turn increments. I have a Polish Tantal in 5.45 without a side rail on the receiver. This looked like it might be a good option to try short of getting an Ultimax rail and red dot scope. I might have to try this anyway and report back here. :)

I also wonder if this would match up well with a MOJO sight. http://www.mojosights.com/ak47_sks.html

I have the XS sight, sans "wings", on my Marlin Guide Gun and really like it. However, if they had been making the winged version at the time I would have got that one because it gives the rear aperture some protection.

While I think the XS Big Dot system is by far the best, fastest and most accurate combat handgun sight system on the planet, for a hunting rifle, I much prefer a Williams peep with a front firesight. I use the apperture to sight in, but remove it and use the sight as a ghost ring in the field. XS also makes a version of their Big Dot system for some rifles now, and if close-in speed of aquisition is your goal, like for SD or bear defense, the Big Dot sights would be faster than a ghost ring.

I have the XS sights on my Guide Gun and they're great. Like Gator, I'd have gone with the winged version if they'd have had it, but the sight is solid and I haven't had any problems with it yet.
