I shot this 100 yard group yesterday with my older Glenfield model 30GT. I'm sighted approximately 2.5 inches higher than point of aim. This is my zero for all deer hunting east and west.

This Glenfield was built by Marlin with a couple economy features to sell at a lower price than Marlin 336 but accuracy is still quite good.
- Ammo: 150 grain core-lokt
- Scope: Simmons Whitetail Classic featuring 2X - 8X settings.

Glenfield rifles are keepers!

Can't speak to a true Marlin, but my Glenfield is a shooter! 150 interlock at 100 yards with a 3x weaver scope.

I have a GT like yours, a Marlin Texan, and a Western Field 740 by Marlin. They all shoot the same and I wouldn't part with any of them. Actually, my daughter, who is 7 years old, has already claimed the GT for her own. She likes the deer head.

Other than the stock it is the same rifle. I'd expect them to shoot the same.

Most of the store brand models had end caps, and It is said that the models with a fore end cap instead of a barrel band tend to shoot better.
