which bullet are you guys using for plinking/target shooting/economical in your glock 17s? I got one on the way and need to pick up some reloading components.

I'm a fan of Rainier plated bullets because I like the concave bases. Berrys are OK but don't utilize a concave base. I also load some lead bullets every once and a while but always heard it's a no-no for polygonal rifling. Of course my G19 sports a lonewolf barrel so I run them with confidence but still appreciate plated bullets. I've heard lots of good reviews about montana gold and zero plated but for now, the Rainier plated bullets are my go to plinking round. I prefer 124gr projectiles, it just seems to be the best bullet for the caliber IMO.

I have used both Berry's and Rainer plated bullets in Glocks for USPSA shooting and don't have a preference either way. Could not see a difference on target. Berry's is usually a little less $$.

I've got a bunch of Precision Delta's that I'm using right now. I'll probably move to Extreme and/or Berry's and/or Ranier when I run out of the PDs...

interesting that every is going with plated... I was actually ready to "bite the bullet" and pony up for FMJ.

Keep the recommendations coming!

I've been loading for my 1st gen G17 with jacketed bullets since the gun was new and have no problems with them. I run HS6 or Longshot with XTP's, and have used Speer semi jacketed bullets back in the 1980's. Nosler usually has a pretty good price on their 250 ct. box too. Personally, I avoid putting anything other than jacketed through a Glock.

at first i used berrys plated but i eventually got a lone wolf barrel, now my glock is fed lead only.

I usually use Berrys. Used to use Rainiers when they were cheaper. I only spring for jacketed bullets any more when I want to load hollowpoints (very rarely). Up to 1200-fps the Berrys shoot fine in my Glocks.

well I guess i will try the berrys... just bought enough powder and primers to do 10,000 rounds so maybe I will get 5000 berry's and 5000 fmj.... deltas fmj are hard to beat price wise
