Glock 17 vs Ruger SR9

I'm not a fan of Ruger's SR9. Terrible trigger (even amount the polymer pistols), sharp edges everywhere, poorly molded plastic frame, tiny and very difficult manual safety, and my biggest wonder was why such a long reach grip (from trigger to web of hand)? It feel almost a 45acp pistol chamber in 9mm.

It's a nice try by the Ruger, and I do like the price tag Ruger try to market it (around $400). But as the price reflect, it is a step down from Glock/XD/M&P. If slimmer grip is what you want, get a XD.

Many people have not had your experience; assuming you actually own and shoot one. It's quite easy to hate on something that many others dislike as well.

The magazine disconnect on the sr9 is easy to remove. I'm trying to make up my mind between the glock 17, xdm, and sr9- recently sold my p229, it never really fit my hand right. I won't make a decision until I've had a chance to shoot all 3- it's a lot of money to gamble. You always test drive a car, right? But, judging by the amount of manufacturer's packing grease I've seen in "used" guns at pawn shops, I guess a lot of folks buy guns cause they have nothing better to do. I have an idea- if you're one of those guys who buys a gun and never takes it out, you could lend it to me for a while :)
