Glock 19 concealed carry questions -

I was carrying a glock 23 in mtac in 3:00 3:30 with crimson trace on it with no problems (6'1 200lbs). I would take the mtac and adjust it to each setting you can and with each setting, try it out at all positions you can sitting, standing, bending over until you find one that is right. You want the belt tight but no too tight. Try different cants on the holster. You can adjust that holster to your needs. You will find something that will work. Just play with it.

Also people will most likely not see it printing and if it's minimal, then they won't think gun. Could be cell phone.

Anyway,

I started concealing my Glock 21 with no problems and beleive it or not it is comfortable than carrying my g23. Weird i know but i swear i totally forget i have a full size pistol in 45acp on me. Also in a mtac. I can drive, run, jump and still feel comfortable on me. It was a cake to conceal the 23 but i thought the g21 would be a heavy brick but not the case. Trick is good holster with adjustable cant and height and a good gun belt.

I honestly feel that everyone has a unique body shape and size, and what works for a lot of people may totally not work for someone else (even if they have the same height and weight). I am 6 foot even and 225 pounds. I've got a 36 inch waist, 32-34 inch inseam, and I wear size large t-shirts. I've got a Glock 19 that I carry in a Crossbreed Supertuck. Usually I just wear a cutoff tucked in (so the holster/gun aren't rubbing on my skin), with a t-shirt over top, untucked. I don't have any problem concealing it at the 3 o clock position.

You seem about my build, but our body shape may be totally different. So, what works for me may never work for you. A lot of people praise OWB concealment holsters like raven or kaluban cloak. I picked up a brand new kaluban cloak for my G19 to wear OWB...I cannot conceal it to save my life. It just sticks off my back at the 4 o clock position and is terrible for me. But, that's not to say that it won't work for others.

Good luck, I hope you find something that works for yuh!

I'm 5'10" and 200lbs. athletic build. Been carrying a Glock 19 or 17 AIWB for about 4 years. Went to AIWB mainly because I drive a decent amount and couldn't take the behind the hip carry. The G19 conceals very well for me in the Dale Fricke Archangel or Custom Carry Concepts Shaggy. I can't say that I have ever worried about hurting myself having the seat belt going over the AIWB holster. I think it is a non-issue. Never heard of anyone hurting themselves because of that. And there are a lot of Appendix carriers out there.

I don't wear tight clothes, but I don't wear loose or baggy stuff either. I have a 43 inch chest, so a XL shirt usually fits me best. I wear my regular size pants and jeans also (34). I don't wear t-shirts a whole lot except when exercising. I mainly wear Polo style shirts that don't have the long tails in the back so they look nice not tucked in and button ups un-tucked in the warmer months. In the winter, there are all kinds of ways to conceal AIWB, but also have quick and easy access to your gun. Sweaters, Vest sweaters, fleece vest (I really like vest, because I am hot natured and they keep me from getting over heated when indoors). Golf wind shirts are great to for concealing, and they are light weight. I have also just bought a couple Columbia sweaters that have a half zip and have no elastic at the bottom so they just drape down several inches lower than your waist. They are made out of cotton and very comfortable. They look good with a t-shirt or a button down dress shirt. If I was you, I would just stick to AIWB.

Good luck.

I have been successfully concealing my S&W M&P9 on me since I got it in July and before that a S&W M&P45 for quite some time. It is really not that difficult once I found out how to do it right.

My recipe for success is a proper gun belt, a Galco Triton IWB holster, an undershirt to separate the gun from my skin, a loose fitting cover shirt, and loose fitting pants. I even wear an extra mag or two on the other side with Fobus paddle holsters.

It's really not that difficult or uncomfortable and I get to carry my favorite gun. I don't have to compromise with a smaller gun, it's great.

I'm your size and also carry a 19 in a minotaur. It is perfect as far as I'm concerned at 3:30, however I rarely wear a t-shirt. Try wearing a button up dress shirt, especially with a plaid or gingham print, it hides a G19 really well. If it still doesn't work, you can cut down the grip of your 19 to a 26 length, then you can conceal it like a 26, and have a 19 sight radius. If that doesn't work hit the pull up bar, and do push ups to build up your chest.

I haven't been satisfied with any IWB holster I've tried with my G 23 (which, if I'm not mistaken is the same size frame as the 19). I've pretty much given up. Now that winter is here I just OC with a Serpa with my coat or sweater over it.

I carry a Glock 23 & 19 in a Blade Tech IWB at about 3.30 and have no problems when driving.

When I first started, I got in my truck with belt straps loose and moved the holster around until it worked OK. It wound up about 3.30 and also works well when not driving.

My wife carries a Glock 19, I carry a Glock 23 (same frame size for both). We both use Crossbreed Supertuck holsters. Once positioned properly and comfortably, you can use this with just a T-Shirt on, tucked in and conceals well.

I'm 6'3" 190 pounds and I use the Bianchi professional to carry my G19. Just untuck your shirt or t-shirt and it is good to go.

Ben86 recipe is a great one because thats how i finally figured out to carry really comfortably after a year. Name brand holster can be different but that setup is best IMO.

Loose pants (size over your normal size), Strong Gun Belt (Beltman), wifebeater tucked in, insert holster (Highly recommend comptacs mtac) adjust it up down and the cant til it's right on you. Loose shirt. When trying different postitions, ask a friend or family to see if it prints while bending or standing.

You will find it.

Sorry i felt like i had to post again.

Well, here's an update. I am getting more comfortable with it around 3:30, I can drive well without much fuss and it seems to disappear under my arm. It's not 'deep concealment' by any means but it works I guess.
I am still interested in a smaller gun, I believe I have landed on a CM9 by Kahr. I will order night sights and have them installed by a gunsmith and an extra 6 round mag when I buy it, and it should be the perfect deep conceal weapon without costing a million bucks like the PM9. I want a glock 26 too... but I'll wait on that for now. CM9, then maybe a glock 30 or 21 as a 'bear gun'... then the g26.
Then I'll be done for awhile. I hope...

First rule of thumb for IWB, no tee shirts. If no jacket or vest is present, an untucked button down shirt with a print on it. Plain and simple.

I carry a G19 in an mtac, I have it ride low with minimal cant, just enough to get my hand on it right for draw. Having it this close to belt line makes it look like a big cell. For the record I am a little taller and wider than you, but the same rule applies.

If you wanna lazy carry on the weekends, either a jframe in the pocket, or a smart carry holster are your friends. Good luck!

I'm almost the same size as the OP and I carry my G19 in a plain Fobus holster at the 3:00 to 3:30 position under a 2X t-shirt with no problems. It's not that hard to hide. Normal people don't notice either.

cross draw holster for driving, or just take it out of the holster. i have carried several glocks in minimal design kydex holsters....usually just behind my right hip I can find the sweet spot so that it doesnt print to the extent that its noticable.

Wanted to update on this. I have recently discovered PJ Holster, and let me tell you he made the impossible happen. I have a few of his holsters now, and for my G19 he was able to make exactly what I needed, custom depth, cant, etc and it really does make it disappear in almost every t-shirt. It IS kydex against the body, so I could see that getting slightly old but just normal 8-10 hour days are no trouble. I love my MTAC for absolute comfort but for max concealment $40 bucks shipped, you can't beat the PJ holster!!
Oh and I have a CM9 now for my deep conceal problem.

Thanks -
Scott

You can't update without pics of the new gear. :)

Help us out so we can see the holster, too!

I carry a G19 in a leather holster on my belt, outside of my pants. It is really comfy. I suggest that you do the same, but just dress up! A nice sportcoat will conceal your gun and allow you to fight off attackers, but you'll also be fighting off the ladies!

Here it is. Sorry for the one blurry one, not sure how that happened.

GREAT holster, works like a charm.
CM9 pictured, not relevant. - that's a G19 holster.

Thanks -
