Where the Army puts me
I picked up a Glock 22 gen2 today. The frame has no rail or finger grooves, 3 pins and some very worn out night sights.

My big idea is to convert it to 9mm, replace sights and trigger for now. Later send the slide to Glockworx and have them put some slide cuts in the sides, top and coating. I'll do a grip reduction, stippling and cerakote the frame FDE.

I was thinking LW for the barrel; bought it today w/ 3.5 connector and competition springs.
Hinne sights
Fulcrum or Skimmer trigger
I want a magwell (ZEV) I've seen them on reduced grips but I'm not for sure if it's something I can buy and do myself or if it's more custom.

Your thoughts?

It's going to a course with me this weekend along with my 34

Sounds like a plan. Since you don't appear to be afraid of spending for this project, have you considered other barrel options like KKM, Bar-Sto etc.? ;)

Yes I have. I picked the lone wolf just because it was $109 shipped and would get me up and running fast. Also I wanted to try out the LW barrel for myself I've heard some bad things about them but only have seen 2 and they both performed well. The KKM will probably be an upgrade in the future.

Just out of curiosity, if you already have a G34, why are you making this one a 9mm competition-style gun?

My personal thought would be to make this a competition .40 cal for when you want to go for major power-factor in a match.

I really don't care for all pistol rounds bigger than 9mm, I respect them and I enjoy all guns. I just don't care to shoot them or pay for the ammo. I've got less than $200 in the 1500rds of 9mm in my ammo box. Most of my mags have extensions so I carry about 60rds with me daily, you can't do that with 40cal, 10mm, or 45acp. And all my pistols and shoot the same mags. It's just a preference for me.

Gotcha, and I definitely understand the benefit of the price. And it never hurts to have a back-up for a competition gun (or a carry gun) :)

Went to the range today and realized I hand about 150 "free handloads" that were garbage in my ammo can so after a few very angry hours I had about 6 flawless mag through my G22 9mm conversion. Very very happy with the grouping I was getting out of this pistol. Maybe time for a Storm Lake in my G34
