I'm considering adding a 30S to my collection, but have one big concern. With the large magazine base I'm concerned that my pinky will get pinched between the magazine and grip. My EDC is a 27 and I originally had pinky extensions on my mags that caused the same pinching. I carry without them and it's great. With the 30S the extension appears to be built in. I haven't held one yet, so all of this is derived from photos. Anyway, now to my question; is there anyone in the Mt Pleasant (Charleston) area that has one that would go out to a range with me so that I can try it out? I guess the 30 or 30SF would have the same design so shooting any of them should let me see if it's an issue.

I have a 30sf, so from the below the slide it's the same. I only had it pinch me once, when I gripped it loosely. If I get a firm grip no problem, but my hands aren't your hands, so may not be the same for you. Also have had four other people shoot it and no one said anything about it pinching them.
Hope this helped and hope you get to try one.

I've not ever been pinched by the 10rd G30 mags, I have the 30 by me right now and trying to wiggle the magazine around isn't doing anything, so I'm pretty sure you're safe. I think most of the issues come with aftermarket products.

Thanks everyone for the info. I may just take the leap and see how it goes. ATP is quite a drive for me, but worst case if I'm still having doubts I'll make a trip up and try it there.

I have a G30S for my EDC. I have put probably 500 rounds through it and I have not been pinched at all. I am on the look out for a 9 round magazine so it will fit flush, but not that the 10 round pinches. I also carry a 13 round magazine for my spare.
I have carried this pistol more than any other EDC since I retired from LE.
