I'm thinking about getting my concealed permit again and am looking for a good gun to carry. I have a .380 that used to qualify with years ago, but I was never happy with it. Now I normally shoot a 1911 (my baby), but I want something more compact for concealment. We've narrowed it down to the Glock 33 or 36. My husband (this is his account, btw) is interested in the .357 SIG for himself, and I'm liking most of what I read about it. I'm just a little concerned about recoil. I'm not a delicate petal or anything (I'm 5'10" and stronger than the average woman), but I don't want a gun that makes me uncomfortable. Is the recoil a big deal?

Thank you in advance for any advice you have to share.

I am not a Glock man but I do like the 36. Im not too worried about the small magazine since I also shoot revolvers a bit. The gun actually fits my hand and very few Glocks do with me.

I own both and like both. The 33 is snappy but it has a double captive recoil spring as does the 36 and it really softens the round. The 33 is loud because it supersonic and some ammo really gives a lot of flash. The 36 I carry most often is the same size as a 23. Ammo is something to consider if you shoot alot, 45acp easier to find than 357sig. I put a plus zero on my mag for the 33 and it feels better. If you can find a 01 glock annual they had a women advertising the 33 and she seemed to like it.

I love my G33. To me the recoil is not that bad, I put a Pierce grip extension on all my mags for a better grip.
