Glock 43X

I have been out 2 times now with the 43x and here are my observations. This is the first striker fired pistol i have ever shot. The last 9mm i owned and shot was a browning high power practical and that was 17 years ago. With that said - the 43x is pretty snappy but controllable. The trigger shoe is meh and tears up the finger after about 30 rounds. The grip angle feels good and it points naturally.

I ran 115 grain CCI ball and 124 grain Fiocci Ball ammo. The CCI was horrible but those were the first rounds fired. The Fiocci shot great, i ran 20 rounds at 7 yards and 15 of those went into a tight cluster approx 1-1/2 inch and centered perfectly. The remaining 5 rounds were in the 8 and 9 ring, so that's me being out of shape shooting pistols.

The gun carries great for appendix carry and i can sit in the car with seat belt on with no discomfort. I just ordered a new trigger bar and shoe from the Glock store so that should solve my dislike for the current trigger feel.

All in all i really like this gun, it's light, simple, easy to operate and carries great.

 

I like the 43X too for the reasons you mentioned above. It carries well. But I still want a Sig P365 because I think the shorter grip will make carry while driving on a long trip a little more pleasant. The 43X is not bad for prolonged driving, but I think the shorter grip of the P365 may be even more comfortable.

We were authorized this as a back-up duty weapon but only when using Hornady Critical Duty 135gr +p ammunition. Our other ammunition didn’t have the required performance.

 

I'm more in the G48 camp, as I like the additional barrel length which matches the G19 in length. I carry with S15 magazines and replacement magazine catch milled for a Trijicon RMRsc.

I don't carry appendix as there was too many compromises where in my day-to-day was wanting to take it off for comfort. I carry 3-4 o'clock and it disappears and is carried unnoticeable by myself, better than previous carry pistols that tended to be thicker.

The pistol shooting gun social media herd mind splits in two here, with some folks thinking it's a great idea, and others who don't see the point at all ("this is my safety"). I'm in the former camp. Any bit of tech that will mitigate the risk of a "brain fart" negligent discharge is a good thing.

The Glock trigger "is what it is", and there are fairly recent threads on that. My opinion, shoot it a bunch and it will stop bothering you. I see enough reports of unsafe aftermarket triggers that I'm not inclined to change anything out that's not OEM Glock.

I feel the same about my G48, it’s the CCW I’ve been waiting for, slim, 15+1, reliable and accurate.

 

Inherited a 43x. I'm totally not a Glock guy but may keep this one and let the inherited 17s and 19s go. But the 43x doesn't have a manual safety which is a serious turn off for me.

 

I like the 43x. I needed a Hogue grip sleeve on mine but it’s bone stock otherwise. I don’t like anything aftermarket on my defense pistols. I’ve never had problems with the trigger biting my finger so to me it’s the perfect small gun.

 

Ive never found issue with Glock triggers. They are what they are and as long as it goes bang when I squeeze, Im fine with it. I have a 43x and have yet to find a fault with it other than wishing the factory mags held a few more but really its a non issue as they are reliable. Its accurate at the distances that I shoot it at and fits my hand nicely. I have 2 holsters for it, an alien gear for open carry and a cheap pocket holster I picked up off amazon for when I conceal carry. Id recommend it to anyone looking for a good compact gun.

 

I don't have a 43X, but I do have it's big brother the 48MOS. It is a fine handgun. I carry with the 15 round Shield arms mag and another as a backup. It is now a VERY fine handgun!

I honestly can't complain about the 43X. I liked it so much, I gave one to a daughter. It was the first Glock I've owned since I had a 23 as a reserve deputy while still on active duty, latter part of the 90s. Wasn't inspired to get the Shield 15-rounders (kinda moot now, since we can't get 'em in WA). I call it my California and New York gun (soon to be an Oregon gun as well) since I have to comply with the mag capacity restrictions when I travel. Not fond of the trigger dingus, but at least the 43X, like most Glock pistols, has quite the positive reset. The factory night sights were a pleasant surprise, they're actually decent and don't need replacing. Doesn't point as well for me as the SIG P-365/365XL, but it's accurate, reliable and eminently concealable. The 43X inspired me to pick up a 19X when I found one at a great price. While I still favor the SIG striker-fired pistols, these pistols have a place in my personal armory.

 

Interesting Old Dog. I, too, picked up a 19X three weeks ago. It is also a great firearm.

Update, I cancelled order for new trigger because one of the parts for it was on back order. However i put a little rem oil on the back of the trigger bar- connector and have been dry firing. It's getting better so I'll run with this for now!

 

My 43x, Taran tactical master kit, vickers flat face trigger, Shield arms mags and steel catch, Sig Romeo Zero RDS , absolute monster of a little pistol, I also have another bone stock.

 

While I thoroughly enjoy my 43X with Shield mags, I wish I would of went with the 48.

 

Haven't had mine all that long, but I only have one complaint. I wish I had got the MOS one so I could put a light on it.
Other than that, It's a fine little gun. I like how it's smaller, and lighter than my Glock 45 (that does have a light) but still big enough to get a good grip on.
Too many small guns have my pinky hanging off, and I'm not comfy with that.

 

I have a 43, a 48 and a 43X.

43: Too small for my taste. OEM trigger pinched my finger on every pull, it was replaced with a Vickers flat trigger. All good now. Super snappy with anything over 115 gr ball. Shot ok, but not super in my hands. I kept it to have it, but I don’t carry it.

43X MOS: a nice compromise between portability and shootability. Grip is much nicer than the 43 grip. A tad snappy with +P loads, but the grip allows better control. Trigger also pinched my finger so it was also replaced with a Vickers flat trigger. Shoots great, sooner or later I will do the RDS thing.
This is my duty gun, as I was practically neutered when I promoted up to admin so I cant go out and work the field anymore. (My Glock 34 was too long to sit on my hip in a chair all day long and the 43X doesn’t touch the chair seat.)

48: Better than the 43X IMHO. Perfect length for good shooting, nice grip, shoots well without being snappy with anything I have shot through it. Like the others it pinched so it got a new trigger shoe. This is a tad longer than the 43X so it may not conceal as well, but it still stows better than the larger 19-17, etc..

Of the three the 48 is my favorite, but it and the 43X are so similar that they are nearly the same performance-wise.

A g43x has been my edc since they came out. I run shield mags, hackathorn sights, a vickers flat trigger and ghost 3.5 trigger bar. Great combo the vickers and ghost, smooth (polished the bar), 4.5 lb break measured. Great carry pistol.

I have gone to pocket carry, am disabled and mostly beltless. I have a p365 SAS (yes, I understand the hate, but perfect for my needs) for that so rarely carry the g43x now. Belted carry it’s still in the running and a great pistol.

 

48 MOS was on my short, short list for small carry gun. I’m a Glock guy and was transitioning down from my 19 MOS so it seemed like the logical choice.

Lost out to the 365xl for a couple of reasons, availability locally and being able to mount the Holosun out of the box with no plate (and no new sights needed) were the big ones.

Still, I’d be happy with a 43x or 48 in a pinch, no problem. Nice guns.

 

I agree with Riomouse91on this but I don't know if I would have purchased the 43x if I already had a 48 MOS. I think the 48 with a Swampfox Sentinel and a Vicker's flat trigger is just about my favorite pistol. I prefer Commander size pistols.

 

I bought the 43X first, then the 43. The 48 came home after that. I guess I kinda started with the Glock in the middle and expanded outwards from there.
