Some pics of a legit Glock AR15 have been leaked onto the internet. Apparently they are competing for a military trial in Europe. It's been confirmed on social media from guys that are with some of the accessories involved in the trials.

Here is a link that has the pictures. It's in German so I dont know what it says. the video is from a guy in the UK though.

The LPVO is supposed to be something pretty interesting too, but it hasnt been made public yet.

    Yawn.
Now if it were a polymer 9mm carbine, bullpup or not, that accepted Glock pistol mags, I might be interested.

Hmmmm. The fanbois at Glock Talk will be going crazy.
I'll have to take a look.
They have been lobbying for a PCC nearly forever; see what they think of this. :)

What the world needs: another generic AR. Glock should stick to handguns.

Well IF they could get a poly upper and lower to hold up to military trials, maybe by imbedding steel rails, then they would have something.

It will sell, ONLY because it’s Glock & most firearms enthusiasts are quite ignorant. Of course, some “fan boy” first to get one, will immediately start in on how “accurate” it is. Old News!;)

Yet another “here we go again…”:scrutiny:

I’m not a Glock hater but this is very uninteresting news.

Tomorrow they will come out with a 1911, perhaps.

They did some great innovating in the 80s that is still relevant today. I wish them well and hope they made more than a standard mil-spec AR.

Same.. I love Glocks. Owned several(2nd & 3rd gen’s), and my carry gun is I built. P80 frame I machined, but uses a Glock 26 barrel & other internals. But I agree with your take in sarcasm about them making a 1911. Same on the AR. It’s not their thing! Hey Glock… Stay in your lane!

The press photos don't show a polymer lower or upper. Finish is too smooth, and there is no metal plate for serialization. Also, standard mil-spec (or near mil-spec) aluminum receiver geometry and dimensions are not conducive to durable construction out of polymer. Several important modifications need to be made to ensure longevity and durability. This is why KE Arms' KP-15 receiver has the buttstock molded in as one monolithic part, to prevent breakage of a threaded buffer tube ring which is strong enough when made of aluminum, but becomes a liability in glass-reinforced nylon. So this kind of failure doesn't happen:

Compare to the KE Arms lower:

You are correct about the upper. There is no Polymer AR Upper. Won’t work as the Upper is a load bearing device. The barrel nut is screwed on, aAnd must take full recoil. Not to mention the BCG riding on the inside. Polymer would be torn up. So no Polymer Uppers.

But the Lower very well could be. “Smoothness” is not an identifiable characteristic either way. But who knows. I’ll say, one strange detail is it has the look of a machined Billet, which pretty much all Polymers have, but it lacks the integral trigger guard, on about all Billet & Polymer Lowers. Their have been a few MilSpec “Forged” style polymer Lowers, without the Trigger Guard, but they were identical to Forged MilSpec Lowers. So that it one strange detail. Also, Glock being Glock…. Polymer IS their thing. Soooo…. who knows. :)

I could almost care less about a Glock AR15.

I'm more interested if they bring any novel individual parts to the table than the rifle as a whole. Maybe a slick adjustable gas block, or nice ambi gas buster charging handle that's not priced ridiculously.

At least when Ruger came to dance at the AR party, it brought a piston system. Not my thing particularly, but it added some variety to the market.

I'm sure it'll be a nice dependable duty type rifle at a fair price, once the scalpers, collectors and fanbois get theirs and prices stabilize. But there's plenty of those on the market currently.

I am however, highly intrigued by their homegrown 5.56 carbine that got leaked a year ago. I'm not putting money away and clearing a space in the safe for it, but if the stars aligned, I wouldn't mind being an early adopter of one.

I'll be curious how Glock manages to make an AR trigger suck.:D

Welcome to Bizarro World. What’s next, a Heritage Manufacturing RR-15 (Rough Rider) in zamak?

    A Taurus TR-15?

Looks like it has a sort of PDQ lever on the right side to release the bolt. I really like that feature - assuming that's what it is.

The amazing thing about Glock is that they have become so well-known -- i.e. around 65-70% of all police departments equip their officers with Glocks -- that even the "ignorant" understand that Glock would not be where it is but for the fact that they produce some of the finest firearms in the world.

So from what I've read further after this post is the Glock rifle was submitted for a SAS and/or British Rangers trials and lost.

Also, this was a military trials rifle. There is no knowing whether this ever makes it to the civy market.
