Glock bulge cases.

How much does 1K of 40 brass weigh ? I no longer shoot 40 and have a pile of brass left over.

I shipped out a box of 1k 9x19 yesterday. Packaged, it weighed about 10 pounds so I would estimate 1k .40SW packaged for shipment weighs somewhere around 11-13 pounds.

First I have seen what you have in your photo happen when there is some debris in the inside of the shellholder keeping the brass from being centered in the die. Also it can happen if the shell holder is not centered in the press ram for the same reason. This is something to check first.
If you want to try saving them the GRX die or the LEE bulge buster kit and crimp die will do it. I also have had good luck when I had some 45 ACP that were bulged by first running them through my 45 LC sizing die, then the regular 45 ACP die. This would probably also work with a 41 MAG sizing die lf the bulge is as small in all yours. A 41 sizing xie from Lee is cheap.

I don't have any problems with brass I run through my glocks 9mm, 40, 10, 45, they all case gauge just fine after a trip through a standard size die.

The brass we run in our SMG's gets blown out though and I always make sure to run them though one of my roll sizers before they go through the reloading operation.

If the brass split upon a trip in and out of a standard size die, it was already gone though. Its not like anyone in their right mind would suggest annealing the case head.

Can you post a photo?

I have 4k 9mm once fired range brass. I just found out about Glock Bulge and have inspected some of my 9mm cases. Yep, there are several that have the bulge. Redding GRX does not have a 9mm resizer die listed on their website.
Q. What is a "roll sizer" that you mention above in your quote?

I did however purchase a Lee 9mm resizing die from Natchez yesterday.
Q. Will this Lee resizing 9mm die fix my Glock Bulge" problem?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

A roll sizer compresses the case between two tapered but parallel dies, so it is squeezed between the two, vs forced into and pulled back out of a regular die or pushed through a hole of a specific size.

Gets into the extractor grove unlike push through sizers and works on semi rimed cases like the 38 super and tapered cases like the 9x19 where push through sizers are less than ideal.

I automated the one I use the most.

Another think about the roll sizer is that it is rather expensive. ($893.01 for the base model Case Pro) 4000 cases, no; 40,000 cases probably not; 400,000 cases, si.

The Lee sizing die might reduce the bulge enough to let them chamber, if not a Lee Undersize sizing die might, or a Lee Carbide Factory Crimp. Maybe.

9mm P cases are tapered and so the push through of a GRX or Bulge Buster won't work like a .40.
I have read of people using a 9mm Makarov CFC die for push through of 9mm P, which is said to clean up the head and rim.

Me? If I (rarely) get a bulged case, I just scrap it; not worth the trouble, there are few in my sources.

Thank you jmorris and Jim Watson. $893 is outa my league. I did purchase a Lee Carbide Crimp Die on amazon for $25, Ill give that a run and see if it helps. Thanks fellas!

I don’t know how many tens of thousands of 9mm cases I loaded before I had a roll sizer but it was a lot. Didn’t really get into them before the SMG’s came into play, they make Glocks seem like match chambers.

Certainly not something needed to reload 9mm, rather a luxury.
