So I've been doing a little research on buying my first Glock and I've come across a PDF form which lists all who qualify for their blue label pistol at law enforcement discount prices. The form lists "College students with proof of enrollment in a Criminal Justice Program" as being eligible. HOWEVER, some recent posts in other forums indicate that Glock has removed a few of the eligible categories from this list (including college kids) as of May 1st 2011. I can't find the new form anywhere online to verify this and I can't call Glock to ask until tomorrow morning. Any help??

Also, as far as Gen 4 Glocks are concerned, do the blue label law enforcement Glocks offer any difference other than only costing $398 now that the regular Gen 4 civilian model Glocks (or at least most Gen4 models) are coming with 3 mags?

I'm wondering if this is even worth the hassle now that I just read somewhere that it can take up to 4 months to actually get the gun. Maybe I should just pay an extra $150 and get it through Buds.

I am pretty sure GLOCK authorized dealers can offer the special prices- i know my LGS did for me when i bought my G19.

I've never paid more than $400 for a Glock, and I've never had to wait 4 months to get one. If you're eligible for the Blue Label program, and your Blue Label dealer has what you want in stock, then it's no more difficult than buying any other gun.

Times have changed, as when I was in college I didn't have two nickels to rub together. :) (never mind buying a Glock)

ISO1600 what dealer did you use? I'm actually going to school in Abilene right now, small world lol.

RUT I'm a senior and I'm fortunate enough to have a pretty decent job down here in Texas where there are still many available. I definitely couldn't have bought a Glock my first couple years of college though, so I don't think times have changed to much :D

In case anyone else was wondering, I just got off the phone with Glock and April Whitted was kind enough to email me the updated form. A couple eligible "categories" have been removed :banghead: so no love for the college student, flight deck officer, commercial pilot, etc. from Glock anymore. Even worse was that I saw they've updated the selection to include every pistol they currently manufacture (Gen 4 G21 anyone?) :banghead: Oh well I guess I have to wait until I'm in the Academy now. :cuss:

Nope.
Only Glock LE dealers get to sell new "blue label" Glocks. Glock inc is suing a LE dealer for several million because they may have sold blue labels to ineligible buyers.

I got a 3rd gen G19 + 3 mags (don't know what the definition of a Blue Label Glock is) new from Abilene Indoor a few months back for $100 off. Can't remember the exact price, but i think it was like $450 after stupid tax.
