In the XD pistols the .40 mag can be used in the XD9 and you can get a few more rounds in your gun.

Does this sort of thing work with Glock mags?

IS there a chart somewhere? 'Cause man that would be the coolest thing ever.

A chart that shows you what mags can be reliably used in other guns, either in the same gun brand or other brands and the round count you can expect.

Thanks,

Went to a local book store and skimmed through The Really Big Book of all Things Glocky and found out that G17 mags will fit the G26....went to the gun store and was told not in California you don't, fanboy. :banghead:

Not the full caps anyway just the neutered versions...:cuss:

You can fit full size glock mags in the baby glock pistols. This has always been a good selling point to me for a backup gun or even a concealed carry gun. The pistol with the small mag makes it easier to conceal but if you carry a couple extra full cap mags you get the best of both worlds.

The 10rd 9mm G17 magazines will work in the G26. It's legal. Why wouldn't it be? Same thing goes with any fullsize/midsize/compact Glock in the same caliber, IE the 21 mags will work in the 30, the 22 mags will work in the 23, etc. However, the sub-compact mags won't work in the bigger pistols because they're shorter than the grip. As long as it holds < or = to 10 rounds, you're good to go in CA.

The gun shop guy said I could go to Nevada to buy the full-caps but I assume that they would still be illegal in Cali.

I love the idea of the mini-mag in the gun and a full-cap plus extension in reserve. Or maybe two....

But alas, California reamin' has taken that option from me.

All Glocks of a particular caliber are able to use mags designed for other Glocks of that caliber which are that frame size or larger. The sole exception is the G36, which uses single stack mags, IIRC. Also, the frames are interchangable if the frames are the same size. IE, you can take a Glock 17 top end and put it on a Glock 22 frame. You'll notice the caliber isn't marked on the frame, just the frame.
