    Skunky ~

Some friends of mine have a mixed marriage. She's a Glockophile, and he's a 1911oholic.

They've managed to make it work anyway.

    Can't we all get along??

    pax

"Hey, Tom -- when I get home, I'm cleaning one Glock. You've got three 1911s to clean tonight, don't you?" -- pax, in a taunting mood

Get a Glock and out of the box you can fire 10,000 rounds with no problems.
Get a 1911 and it's up in the air as to your being able to use it for long before it goes to the gunsmith.....

If I am out and about and need a weapon I want to know that it will work all the time.

    Just my 2 cents.... :)

All tools will fail no matter the make. I've seen my share of Glocks choke. It's not always limp wristing as the acolytes of Glock Church claim. There's no way that a Glock will ever have the trigger pull of a properly tuned 1911. Tight fitting 1911s need a break in period. Kimber recommends 500 rounds with cleaning and lubing in between.

    Skunky,

You've tried them all now treat yourself to a 1911.

I'll be first in 2005 to reiterate the Profession of Faith:

There Is No G_d But John Moses Browning and Jeff Cooper Is His Prophet

All Praise to the 1911, the Merciful, the Omnipotent!

    :cuss:   :scrutiny:

You can't drop a 1911 in a river, freeze it, smear it with mud, run an SUV over it, and fire 100 rounds flawlessly out of it. Glocks, on the other hand, can handle that. So HA! to all you 1911 people.

And Skunkabilly, thy name shall be Pandora, and thou shalt sow confusion and consternation throughout the masses, and they shall be humbled. Get a Ma Deuce. :what: Of course, you'll need someone to carry the tripod for you.
