Glock Problems

It is a modification they made to the extractor to allow case rims to slip under more reliably, however it also compromises the purchase the hook has on the casing during extraction. What they are counting on is the next cartridge/mag lips to keep the case in-line with the ejector to get kicked out the ejection port.

The problem is when the casing comes loose from the hook, it has nothing to pivot around to kick it out sideways...that is what makes the erratic ejection pattern .

Worst case is then the casing kicks sideways and hits the inside of the slide...bouncing back into and tying up the action

I have a stock Gen3 19 that I bought new in June, 2012. I have shot 1,000s of Winchester USA (from WalMart), PMC Bronze, and Magtech 115 grain rounds and not one issue. I do clean my pistol on a regular basis, BTW.

No offense, It doesn't matter when you bought it.

It was pistols built late 2010 - early 2011 that had issues. Theories abound as to why. One things for certain they wouldn't be on so many spring and extractor revisions already in the gen4s if something wasn't wrong.

I had a 17 that ate through everything and never had a malfunction the entire time I owned it.

skip to recently. the lady bought a gen 3 glock 26. the First day at the range we shot about 200 rounds. it had a several failures, twice it didnt fire when pulling the trigger, and twice it didnt eject the round and jammed. This was using Remington UMC, which isnt that great usually. Im not worried about this problem lol its not my gun and she cant hit a thing anyway.

We havent shot it since but she's shooting it today so wel see if it's still doing it.

NOW skip to this week. I picked up a gen 4 glock 19. Took it to the range and shot about 120 rounds. in the first 80 rounds, three jams. Each time the shell didnt eject, it actually just did a backflip in place and kept sticking in the slide backwards with the round underneath half jammed in the barrel. This was using PPU. I didnt clean the gun before shooting, it was brand new and clean enough. just a little lube.

This is dissapointing. Any ideas on whats causing the g19 problem?

Aside from the realiability issues, the 19 is my favorite of the bunch. I got very tight groups, and the balance/feel of the gun is perfect. It feels like it aims itself lol. When you pull it up to the target it alligned without feeling like you have to "tilt" it do to being back or front heavy.
Everyone has a guess but nobody really knows what went wrong with your G26. Generally Glocks are not supposed to be ammo sensitive. Any factory ammo including subsonics will normally cycle a Glock out of the box. They've been known as the AK's of handguns. The jury is still out on limp wristing. A firm grip with a flinch in anticipation of recoil can impair the cycling. But whatever it was, here is my 2 rubles. Don't make it a project. Glocks are not rare. Unless yours has sentimental value, just trade it in. You will likely get a reliable Glock as most of them are.
