Glock's new spokesman - Chuck Norris

Since Walker, Texas Ranger, I've always thought of Chuck as a revolver guy... Silly, but it's hard not to see someone as being a role that they play for a long time.

I kinda wish that they had gotten Adam Baldwin (no relation to Alec) to be their spokesman. Not just a 2nd supporter but a true gun nut. My wife was able to get his autograph in person. She had a couple of different pictures of him from the Firefly series and asked him which one he wanted to sign. His response: Any of the ones with guns!

Everyone has their opinions. But why are we arguing over Chuck Norris? Genuine tough guy. World champion Karate tournament fighter, legitimate Pro 2A supporter, active member doing good in his community, military veteran. So the guy was successful. So he’s not a great actor. He paid his dues.

I think God himself could come down, cure cancer, turn water into wine, come up with a cool slogan like “Glock Perfection” endorse them and someone would say “But...But...The Old Testament!!!” Some people just can’t be pleased.

Actually most of us do not give a crap one way or the other. Just giving opinions. It is what most people do. In truth, I could give a hoot if Glock Picked Whoopee Goldberg as their spokesmen.

If I had been him, i would have ridden that loving fan service and just been happy that people under 35 knew who i was.

You know, if people under 35 didn't already know who he was, the meme wouldn't have caught on.

People mentioned several times he’s not really a good actor. Are you seriously expecting live action figures to do great performances of Macbeth?

We all know you suspend belief when you enter a movie theatre, why hold a person who performs in that genre to serious dramatic acting? If they did those kind of movies in that manner you’d all be disappointed and bored. lol

I am not sure I would go that far....but I get your point.

Really I don't have an issue with chuck....but we have to know....he is an old man now. Yes he was a real tough guy, and yes I think he could hold his own in a "real" fight with Bruce Lee....Lee was a movie star....chuck fought real fights to become world champ.....but really who cares, We got to see Chuck grow old, lee is young forever.

I am not a crock....err glock fan boi.....not a fan boi of plastic guns. Anything you can in grave with a hot soldering iron is not something I am interested in at all. I will pass, I think they are over hyped and live on that hype....no better or worse then anything else out there of like quality.....so keep your hipoint comments to yourself.

As far as a spokes person....the change is going to be rough....Emery was someone that is going to be very hard to follow, his commercials fun to watch....but in todays climate who is going to see them.....the customers they already reach....we don't need commercials, our minds are already there, We have our fingers on the pulse of the gun world....so why spend the money to try to sell to people that already know your product?

I'm honestly fairly impressed that four pages of comments have been generated about which celebrity Glock bought to endorse their product. When they get the Dalai Lama then I'll be impressed. I mean why does anyone care what a celebrity or actor thinks? Because they used to pretend to be a fictional character in a show? I'm not saying he isn't capable or a nice guy, I'm just saying him standing there holding a gun and saying "Glocks are good." is meaningless to me. When a competition shooter starts winning with a certain gun, I care.

But the 4 pages does beg the question, who is more powerful, Chuck Norris holding a Glock or a thread about Chuck Norris holding a Glock?
In a fight between Chuck Norris and a hurricane, who would win? What if the hurricane is Hurricane Norris?

If Glock is looking at all options to expand their product line, never know, Glock could go the way of the revolver.

Imagine Chuck Norris wearing a Stetson hat standing with the sun setting behind him over mountain plateau and under his duster is a holstered Glock revolver. :D

I bet Glock would sell A LOT of revolvers.

They will never expand till the old man kicks the bucket.. All they have done since inception is cut here and add there.

There are THR forum rules everyone agrees to abide by when they sign up to become members. When those forum rules are violated, threads get locked - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?pages/code-of-conduct/

Simple.

If you don't want your posts deleted or threads locked, abide by forum rules.

Would it wrong then to suggest that GunnyUSMC would be a better Glock role model than Chuck? I suspect Gunny probably has a few more Glocks than Chuck.

But who would attract more new customers to Glock? Chuck has legions of fans, especially from the younger generation.

Being part Cherokee (like my wife of 24 years), I am sure he has a large following with the natives too (But somehow, wife has a temper of an Apache. I think there was some hanky panky with her grandma.).

Grandma knew chuck :what::neener:

But was Gunny a Glock guy before he was a Glock rep? Serious question.
A little joke, I am referring to the THR's own Gunny, GunnyUSMC, rather than deceased Gunnery Sgt. Lee Ermey who I believe did represent Glock in the past.
