Gloves or no gloves?

I always carry a Pair of latex gloves in my back pack when hunting, along with a sandwich baggy with disinfectant wipes.

 

Thanks guys, I got a doe today and used gloves to field dress it.

Then proceeded to drag it, clean up the insides a bit and hang it with out gloves. I got half of it right. Small steps.

Side note: was my first deer using a revolver. My father’s SAA .45lc clone at 25yards off hand.

 

That sounds like an excellent idea! I’ve never been concerned about picking up some kind of disease or something when gutting out a deer, but bloody hands and forearms are uncomfortable for me, especially as the blood dries before I get the deer back to the road and truck. And I don’t like using the water in my canteen to wash up - “Water’s precious. It can be more precious than gold sometimes.” (Walter Houston in Treasure of the Sierra Madre)
Anyway, it’s kind of off topic, but my wife sure got a lot of funny looks from other deer hunters this year because she was wearing a face mask. She always wears a face mask while out deer hunting because sagebrush pollen can, and has caused her asthma to act up. But this year, I figure the other hunters that saw my wife wearing a face mask just assumed she was foolish enough to worry about picking up Covid in the backcountry. It probably didn’t help that the face mask my wife was wearing this deer season just happens to be hunter orange.
BTW, my wife also carries an inhaler and an epi-stick in a pouch right up front - where she can get to them in a hurry. Asthma attacks aren’t pretty, and it pays to be prepared.
