So you try Walmart looking for .222? What'd you expect? I think you knew walking in this wasn't gonna happen.

.....And I'm getting pretty tired of Walmart being the favorite whipping boy. Sheesh people, name one other major outlet (other than the outdoor chains) still selling guns. You should be thankful they put up with the BS.

Last time I bought ammo there, a woman and a man helped me...All the ammo was locked up...not in the glass case but under a counter. She was pulling out boxes to see if she had 9mm....and dropped a box and screamed.

The guy and I laughed...she was sure ammo would 'blow up.' THey were both friendly and helpful and didnt (have to) ask any questions about what I was using it for, ID, etc.

.222, eh? Granted, I've been shooting primarily pistol for the last 20-something years on and off, I have not heard of this caliber until about a year ago. . . I can't imagine that most younger folks working part-time in a Wal-Mart would know of this caliber.

I told my wife to pick up a box of Tula 9mm at WM. She comes home with two(!) and told me the following. She asked the "associate" if they had any Tula 9mm. He said "no, but I do have Tul 9mm." On the box, the A in Tula is the same A in Ammo so I guess I can see how he might get confused.

The sad part is, it's probably not her fault. It's her parents/school/societies fault

I can see being a young child watching movies and TV, seeing guns and bullets, and thinking they might explode like a bomb. Except that misconception is something that should be corrected by adults as you grow up and learn about responsible firearms use. Even if you don't own firearms, someone should have taught her something so basic. Unfortunately she made it to adulthood never learning reality. Her perception of firearms and ammunition never grew up past early childhood.

God must love the employees at Wally World. I have a niece and nephew, brother and sister, that work there and have moved up into upper management. Neither of them have enough smarts to pour P$$$ out of a boot with instructions printed on the bottom. The boy spent 7-8 yrs at a major college for archaeology and started as a buggy gather. The girl, well who knows how she go there. Guess I have been lucky with the ones I have encountered because with exception all have been very intelligent and helpful.

I was in a local Walmart a day or 2 after Christmas 2007. A customer who had gotten a 7mm-08 rifle for Christmas called wanting to know if they had any 7mm-08 ammo. The clerks answer. "Yes, we have plenty 7mm ammo, but it is all 2007 ammo. We will be getting a shipment of new 08 ammo in sometime in a couple of weeks"
