I am taking 2 days off work that I stocked up as vacation and comp time to go to the border and work with the Minutemen Civil Defense Corps and help bring attention to the border plight.

I could be using my vacation to go somewhere else that would be more fun. I could have used my $50 Minuteman registration fee for a plane ticket to San Diego, or Las Vegas, or somewhere fun.

But I didn't. Because it's time to get some work done that our president isn't doing. Becuase it's time to get some work done that our governors aren't doing.

Make no mistake: The laws against illegal immigration are already on the books. Enforcement protocols and sentencing guidelines have been designed.

The only missing part of the puzzle is enforcement.

Any act by Congress to address this issue will result in a LOSS FOR ALL OF US. Congress writes law; it does not execute it. The law is already written, so if Congress addresses it again, it is for AMNESTY and invalidation of your value as an American citizen.

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is not a battle for Congress to address. This is a battle that all forms of the executive branch of government must be coerced into obeying the law and the will of the American people. Everybody, from the President of the United States, to the FBI, to ICE, to the Mayberry Police Department, who is employed with executive powers of government, must be tasked with righting this wrong done to the American taxpaying public.

I invite all of you to join me on the border, north or south, this month. I invite all of you to join me as a Minuteman. Whether you stand in Washington state watching for BC drugrunners, Arizona watching for illegal aliens, or Washington DC lobbying for increased funding for the enforcement of our nation's sovereignty, I stand with you.

    Please join. Or donate.

Now is the time to stand and be counted.

What exactly do you guys do? I've heard so much crap about the minuitemen that i'm not sure what's true and what's not. As I run in both conservative and liberal circles, I hear wonderful things and I hear awful things. Someone told me that the Minuitemen once threatened to open fire on protesters at one point.

I like the idea of this group, but i'd love to hear more from actual volunteers, about both the good AND the bad. I've got respect for anyone that "puts their money where their mouth is" and volunteers to do something for a cause they believe in...

I've never heard once of minutemen opening fire or threatening to open fire on any group. We are armed with a sidearm when doing border surveillance, though.

Anyone acting outside of these guidelines is acting on his or her own and is not sanctioned by the Minutemen.

Good for you for standing up for something you beleive in. Be carful and watch your back. Now it a particularly dangerous time, and you might be in more danger from those on the north side of the border than those trying to cross.

    May God keep you safe,

That's what I like to see, people going to the Arizona border to attend a congressional debate.

No wonder you guys missed the demonstration... :D

A not so subtle referral to the upcoming fight I believe will be waged in the streets of the US. It's getting ugly Friend, and I wish you luck. Keep your powder dry.

Maybe I'm dense, but what are you referring to?

Haven’t you been keeping up with the racial tension between the Black and Hispanic communities in The Peoples Republic of California?

I believe that we're on the cusp of a civil (or race) war, at least in the border states. What happens if Bush's amnesty program (yup, that's what it is) doesn't go through?
I'm thinking that the 500,000 demonstraters in LA won't be so peaceful in that case.
The racial rhetoric is being ratcheted up by groups such as La Raza and it is not going unnoticed by many Americans.
