I am one of those folks who LIKE gun shows, so if you do not, please do not feel you have to waste time replying.

We have several good shows here in Amarillo, three per year from from the club I am in plus about 4-6 more with about 110-120 tables each show... but this weekend I am attending my first Tulsa show...4000 tables!

Takes up the entire Pavillion at the fairground.

I try to go to a big church function each year in that location so I am familiar with how large a building it really is, and I am VERY EXCITED!

At my club's shows here in Amarillo I usually set up a table, but I will not be doing so in Tulsa.

I am wondering however, what kinds of things should I take to carry around?

With such a larger market, I am thinking about some of the more expensive guns that usually sit on my table without much interest like my light-weight stainless Weatherby MKV? or my Lever Action 454 Casull?

The only guns I have been able to get interest on lately have been less expensive guns, less than $300 or so.

I have some luck usually in trades, but most people just want to talk $$

I actually like to shoot my guns, so if I can't buy something else to shoot with the money someone is willing to give me, then I don't want to talk $$, I would rather trade.

Is the gun climate much different in Tulsa than West Texas? Would anyone have any experience with both?

Thanks,

I live about a mile from there. I got there this morning and there were so many people in the parking lot and standing in line to get in, I just rolled right through the parking lot and back home.

Well, the line did look long but then some folks came out and sold tickets to those who had exact change and we went right on in.
Am having a really good time so far... Couldn't even cover the whole lower level yet!
Folks seem to be really interested in my Ruger p90 but not at all with my CZ82?? Both of which I consider quality workhorses...?
Saw several SKSs that were close to $200 but no trading for my CZ yet.
Would like to get a dependable 9pm trade for the p90... Tomorrow is another day!
Interesting to me is the large number of black powder and civil war guns to be seen.

You are very fortunate to be attending the largest US show. Even Dallas would be nice, before more age hurts my shooting vision.
It would cost so much in gas from Memephis (plus hotel) that I can't justify it.

Enjoy.

I had three friends come in from other states to go to the show this weekend. They where there all damn day. I left about 4pm. Between 11am and 2:15pm it was a crush of folks.

I stopped at a casino on the way home Friday evening. Took in $25, walked out with $800. Then the show the next morning. :) The Creeks bought me a new M&P 9mm Talo! Next time I see the new chief around town I will have to thank him. :)

I could not believe the prices some of those folks where paying for Glock, XD and Tarus. I darn near stole my M&P.
