Golden Saber vs. Hornady XTP

I was thinking of loading Golden Sabe 125gr for .357 magnum using Win 296. A friend advised against it saying that the Golden Sabre doesn't have a cannelure and the recoil might pull the bullet out of the case. He suggested XTP's instead. He said the Golden Sabre was meant for lighter loads. I've loaded a lot of Golden Sabre in 9mm and wanted to try it in .357 and maybe .45 acp. Should I use the XTP's instead in .357?

The 125g XTP-HP (and IME the even-better 140g) work very well in 357.
