Good Day at the Skeet Range

Update on this thread, been working with my friend now for almost a year and a half shooting skeet. Usually shoot with him if not every week, every other week 3-4 rounds of skeet. Last week I had him adjust his stance to more forward weight on his leading foot, he kept leaning back like a rifle shooter and not getting the speed he needed to get on the birds fast on his doubles. Has been an ongoing problem, just not consistently.

Today he is crunching all his 'trouble' targets and starts off with a 21. I was shooting my new CZ Ringneck and started off with a 24. Second round I started having misses, 5 targets first 3 stations, he is more worried about how bad I am shooting than himself. Before he knows it he is to station 8 and has his FIRST 25 STRAIGHT. :D :D I ended up with an 18 but was happier than if I ran them. Started a 3rd round, he ended with a 21 and I had another 24 with the new SxS. He wasn't wearing a hat, so couldn't do the First Straight victory hat shoot, have to do it next time. And the club had just run out of 25 straight patches, his wife might not believe him when he gets home. :scrutiny:

It is a great feeling when you help someone accomplish their shooting goals. :D

25 straight! Awesome! Your friend has a good teacher I think. Something I've been wondering about. Seems like most of the misses I see are from bad stance. Next is from shooting at the bird in stead of where it's going. Then there's that mental thing. Sometimes I think I see shooters step on the station preparing to miss instead of expecting to hit.

It's been real windy here the past few weekends and the birds have learned a new dance. The Tango. No matter, we all have a good time at the dance. Last week I dropped 2 on the low 6 for a 23 :barf:

Lately I've been having more fun at skeet with my 410. This game is never boring.
