I live in Denton and am looking for a good shooting range. Used to go to a great range in Sanger area but he closed until further notice due to too many jerks bringing tv's, teddy bears, etc to shoot and not cleaning up their messes. I will go to Quail Creek if nobody knows of a better range, but I don't like going there. Too limited on range/distance and rude.

I am looking for something in the Denton, Aubrey, Pilot Point, McKinney, Gainesville, Decatur areas. Years ago when I lived here I used to go to one (Ricks Taxidermy I think?) off of 380 and now and then to the Collin County range but both are closed.

Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Brad

Back Woods and Collin County are closed. Your choice is Quail Creek or Garland Public (where I go) Otherwise, Luna Road, Gibson's, TacPro, etc are it. Real sucky that there are no real good ranges in the Denton, Texas area.

Its a bit of a hike from Denton, but I shoot at Alpine Range in southeast Fort Worth (well, technically not Fort Worth, but rather unincorporated Tarrant County).

My only gripes are that the longest range is only 100 yards, and that they do not allow FMJ centerfire rifle ammo.

while bird hunting on the LBJ national grasslands, i came across a few guys target shooting. they had set up camp and were shooting everything they owned.
