Good holsters?

When my wife bought me a genuine Colt SAA, I wanted the very best holster I could find. After a great deal of research, and without regard to time or money, I chose Brigade Gunleather. I waited nearly a year and a half, but was delighted with what I got:

But the answer really depends upon how you intend to carry, as well the make and model of the gun.

The best, who knows.

Most expensive, the ones made out of exotic animal skins.

The best is the one that carries your gun the most comfortably.

Holsters by Matt del Fatti are what I would call a happy compromise between extreme expense of exotics and all day carryability. They will usually start around 200 dollars.

Unless someone simply titles it "belt holster" on eBay and I am the only one bidding on it. 16.00 dollars shipped later I have a del Fatti holster that I later bought a gun for as I did not have one that fit the holster at the time.

I love my crossbreed. Sometimes the weight just disappears and I have to think if I remembered my gun, but that is pretty rare. Point being, its pretty darn comfortable.

Thanks for the input, I think I will order the "super-tuck"
Is the belt they sell necessary for it?

Galco sends candy too.

Must be a holster manufacturer thing.

Is the belt they sell necessary for it?

Their belt is not necessary but a good quality double thickness belt is a must. Sorry, they dont sell these at JC Penney. I spent more money on my belt than my holster and I have a Versa Max II holster.

This is really a discussion for another thread but the belt is more important than the holster. I have 2 Belt Mans. A horsehide reinforced and a bull hide reinforced. Both are excellent for carrying a full size pistol and equally well for any gun I would think.

What he said.

I actually have a CrossBreed belt and two from BeltMan, one bullhide and one horsehide reinforced.
The CB belt is orders of magnitude better than any belt you'll find hanging from a rack, it is a superb belt ... that being said, I wear my CB belt for a workbelt, and use BeltMan belts for everything else, they're just better, exactly how much better matters on your preferences, but I think they look a little sharper (no two-color top/bottom edge), are a bit stiffer (a LOT stiffer with reinforced horsehide), and are a bit slimmer, which works better with the CB ST holster, amusingly.
I also like the BeltMan option of more holes closer together. The CB belt had a nice roller buckle, I think that buckle is on a BM belt now while a BM buckle is on the CB belt to go through the metal detector at work.

So ... yes, you want a real gunbelt, and CB lets you do it with one-stop-shopping ... but check out BeltMan and the others before you decide.
