Good place to move?

Any place but the Republik of Illinois. 102 counties, three of which(representing less than five per cent of the land mass and not much more than fifteen percent of the population) rule the rest of the state. They elect a mayor, he thinks he's governor or even king. The governor, about to be fifth in line for prison time, is a doofus who is nowhere in touch with the will of the people. Last state, and not there yet, for CCW and now the Chicago mob wishes to impose a $65/handgun registration fee, a 2% excise tax on ammo to take care of the gangbangers who are shot, and a prohibition on semi (not full auto..we can't ever have them) auto weapons.
Great state, what? Think twice, or thrice or a hundredice before considering the last progressivehere.

Idaho is pretty awesome for gun owners. Few regulations, mainly imposed by the feds, shall issue CCW, lots of places to shoot, lots of hunting and fishing opportunities. Jobs are so-so. Land around my neck of the woods has come down far and will go down some more. Property taxes are high, and there is an income tax and a sales tax. Like some famous guy once said, you can't have everything, where would you put it?

CLOSE to S. Cal - try NV and NOT Las Vegas - walking in and out in 30 minutes is a reality, and So. Cal is an 8 hour drive or an hour plane ride.

Want to shoot and not at a range? Is 87,000 square miles enough territory for you out of the 110,000 that makes up the state? Plus, NO state income tax

Not Texas. We have too many Californians already.
Nothing personal. And quite frankly the gun laws should be better and there is virtually no public land.

anywhere but florida.......... we have too many outsiders as it is. my family has been in florida since my great grandfather. extremely uncommon here in florida.

Jan. 10, 1861 - 3rd state to secede from the union:neener:

BTW, Utah's governor is about to sign a bill for a new which would be effective IMMEDIATELY, that if you are injured on another person's property, to sue them, you must prove that your presence on the property was not criminal in nature. Or, as I prefer to think of it, the super-dooper Castle Doctrine.

We appear to be welcoming pretty much everyone these days.

Some of us in TX believe in judging people on their merits, not what state they came from so don't let the above comment deter you. The public land thing is true though and absolutely sucks. There are states with better carry laws than TX but none that are more favorable to an actor who uses a firearm in defense.

Phoenix, SLC, Vegas all have things going for them....lots to do, plenty of people around your age, good gun laws, low real estate costs, and once you get out of the city you're REALLY out. Economy still sucks in Vegas but should rebound eventually.
