A shop near me has some GI issue M-16 30-round mags for sale for $25. I don't yet have an AR-15, but have thought about getting one eventually. Since the price of everything gun-related has gone through the roof lately, I've been thinking about buying a few of these while I can in anticipation of getting the rifle (which I can't currently afford) later.

Is $25 an OK price to these mags? If not, what would be a fair counter-offer?

You can buy new GI spec mags all over the place for as low as $10 each. Magpuls P=Mags are where its at for AR mags. They are about $14 each and are almost indestructable. Check out www.44mag.com for some great mags at great prices. Mags are about as cheap now as they've ever been. $25 is way too high.

if you want GI Style mags look for C-Product mags, i have 5 and they all work just fine, BTW my 3 pmags are great too ;) plus you can get them in 3 colors ;)

ETA: 25.00 for an AR15 (.223) mag is just too high

That's a ridiculous price (in a free state. Ban states are different). Don't get taken.

25 is absolute highway robbery. good usgi mags such as nhmtg, okay industries, and pmags(not usgi, but arguably better) can all be had for under 15 dollars a piece.

You can generally buy high quality AR15 teflon coated magazines for about $10-12 a piece if you buy in lots of 10 online. I got mine from www.bravocompanyusa.com about 1.5 years ago. I don't know the current price at Bravo Company though. However, $25 is a rip off.
