Hello,

I am new to this forum and was looking for some information on a few guns I recently purchased. The first one I am curious about is a custom rifle built on a K98 frame; it is marked with some sort of bird that is slightly distorted now, and the words P.F.K Warszawa 1925 on the top just before the barrel. This rifle has a custom barrel and is chambered for 7mm-08; the barrel seems to be custom as does everything but the original receiver of the K98 which was altered and the bolt re-positioned, everything is polished highly and blued but the bolt, it also came with a Leopold 3x9 Vari-X IIc scope. The second gun I purchased was a Remington 870 Wingmaster 12ga., with an improved choke, and it came with something called a Weaver Quick-Point Sight which I have never seen or heard of before. Third is a Savage model 720 with a Poly Choke and waterfowl scenes along its sides in gold. Lastly is a Remington 7400 30-06 in new condition with a Tasco 4x32 scope. If any of you gentlemen could help give me an idea of what these guns may be worth I would very much appreciate it, I have been around guns since I was kid, but I am just starting my own collection and would like to know if I am making good buys money wise; I have attached some pictures to help with the evaluation. By the way I paid $250 for each shotgun Thanks.

That Quick-point sight was popular in the early 80's as one of the first 'red dots' out there.

You did very well on the 870, even with a fixed choke barrel. Neither shotgun looks overly abused, they were well taken care of and worth what you paid. The Remington I'd value at $100-200 more.

That 7400 is very new looking indeed. That high gloss finish is kind of rare to see these days, as is the side mounted optics. I'd say $450ish on the rifle and scope, but only because demand for them is down compared to other centerfire semi automatic rifles.

The custom Mauser with the Leupold I'd value in the $350-400 range. it's lost 'collector' value as a military arm.

I'm NOT sure if PFK Warzawa designates a Polish Military arm or a post war 'sporter' sold in Poland. I'd lean more towards a military rifle.

Custom guns are just that, custom made for someone that isn't you. However this looks like a solid game-getter rather than a 70's style basketweave and thumbhole 'full' custom.

Thanks

Thanks Dr. Rob for the information; these guns were kind of a spur of the moment purchase from my dealer who had bought them and some others from an old man he knew who was clearing out his collection, and though I went by to pick up another 1911, I left with these four and a new little Ruger LCP. Being that I love blued guns with wood furniture, I just couldn't help but pick up these guns and only wish I had the money to buy the rest that he had. I understand that guns are very personal, and value is what a person will pay, and though people may turn their noses up at my other guns that my grandfather left me like my Marlin 989 M2, Mossberg 351KA, they are a joy to shoot and feel better in my hand than some more expensive guns I've held. Thanks’ again for the information, being knew to collecting could you or someone else tell me where I could find out how to use a scope correctly and care for them. I don’t want to adjust them incorrectly; I have an old side mount Weaver that came with a Winchester 94 my grandfather gave me, and the Leopold and Tasco that were on these new rifles I just got.
