I wont join any on line vendor just to look at their goods.. its a red flag for me.. that malware is enclosed...

SOG makes good knives but If I want one < I wont join just to look...
There are too many other unencumbered websites out there that don't require personal information up front.

Agreed. I rather pay a few dollars more and support a company that allows me to shop without joining
 
I think Dvor is just the closeout department for OpticsPlanet. They're a good outfit.

If malware is getting a scope for $50 less than anywhere I could find on the internet, then I have 3 malwares.
 
I've been a DVOR member for a few years now, and have gotten some pretty good deals on stuff. Most of it's dealer close out and clearance as has been mentioned. Also mentioned, its run by OpticsPlanet and I've found them to be top notch.

My only problem with DVOR is not having the funds for when I see something I want, which is often.

I don't want to be the bad guy in this.. I don't have to log into Optics planet to view an item... and I wont go to a website where they demand my personal information... just to view a product.... there is no reason for them to do this unless they are collecting something for their own purpose... I have 6 email addies... I code a couple just see if they come back as spam or malware.. and from vendors who swear they don't sell, share, or use personal information to spam or malware me.
When I see a coded email addy, I know that email was sold, shared, or used for purposes other than I intended them .Even when their policy states they don't do it...
Its a known fact that some websites use and unsubscribe link to verify and active email address... When I give personal information, its on me to do it and suffer the consequences ...
 
....or you could use one of your 6 email addresses you already have and save $50 per scope as mentioned above.
 
I don't care about the 50 dollars , I care about giving my email addy to someone who is obviously using it for other purposes... A vendor does not need your personal information to allow you to view their website... to do so is very poor ecommerce protocol. My personal information is worth more to me than 50 dollars... I know many people will drive 2 miles out of their way to save two cents on a gallon of gas. Fortunately, I was given the gift of common sense, and internet savvy.
 
Some vendors have members only sites, some vendors offer otherwise unlisted specials to those who sign up to be on the mailing list, and there are many other variations. But we aren't here to debate the savings vs. sharing of personal info value trade-off.

If the OP, Optics Planet, or someone else who's a DVOR member wants to list some examples of the SOG models and prices we can talk about that.
