I am a soldier stationed at Camp Phoenix, in Kabul. Years ago, I was introduced to Militec-1, a type of super-lube that some firearms afficianados swear by. It's good stuff, and it's supposed to bond to the metal when subjected to heat, giving increased lubricity. It's been my gun lube of choice (except for certain metal-to-metal contact areas, like between an aluminum frame and a steel slide; I use moly grease for that) for years.
I was told, about two weeks ago, that Militec was supplying military with Militec-1 through their website. I emailed a request in, unsure if I was asking for too much.
Today, I received a 1-oz bottle of Militec for each member of my squad, along with a larger 4-oz bottle to keep in our CP. This was sent priority mail...at no cost.
This is good stuff, and if you buy good gun lube, I'd like you to consider buying it from these guys.
