Good Riddance to Dick's

Sounds like he was a very casual gun owner, wanted one when Chaz chop is at the door, back to apathy or at worst open hostility when things calm down (relatively).

I get we can't "cancel" everyone who drinks the woke juice, but we should try to avoid financially supporting businesses actively hostile the 2nd amendment..a house divided etc. I don't really want to finance my own destruction.

Unfortunately, Dick’s isn’t going to go out of business anytime soon. They are making more money off of the outdoors people than they are the shooters and reloaders. They just recently opened their high-priced Public Lands stores.

oooh yeah, 100% agree, but a business has the right to do what they wish, And we have the right to keep $$$$ in our pockets.

The Seattle anti gunners who took up arms during the riots must be very confused with themselves. But I know, they know why guns are so important

Please don't think me a traitor but I have to shop at Dicks once a year. One of my Daughter-in-laws likes their line of running and workout clothing and we buy Her a gift certificate there for Christmas. Oh yeah, She looks good in them too!

You can't boycott every business that has different beliefs that yours. Theres just too many of them.
I feel ya, but yes I do boycott those that are most egregiously anti- American, anti-veteran (of which I am - almost all males in my family have served, going back a dozen generations) and anti-2A. I'm single (was married for over 20 years) and in my fifties with no kids and five indoor cats and a bunch of outdoor welfare recipients, as my Dad calls the strays and wildlife I feed. I have very very few actual needs at this point.
So luckily I can be choosy about where my money goes, at least in the first iteration. I'm not militant about it, but if I know some companies hate people like me and what I believe then they can go butt a stump, as my Grandmother used to say.

Luckily my life is less complicated than many, but that is by design to a large extent. Now if I could just control where my tax money goes, that would be a start to actual change.

Only good thing I have gotten from ducks was a carhart jacket for $25! Wife needed a coat. Sucks was the closest store. Went in the only had one car hart. 2xl. Took it to the counter no tag. Lady asked if $25 was good? I couldn’t get my wallet out fast enough!!! $100+ jacket for $25. It looked like a wonkie dress on my wife. So it’s mine now. Nice and warm. And super cheap. Can’t find a used for that price.
But I sincerely hope they go out of business. Wish Walmart would to. But don’t count on it.

Pretty much... whoa is me, unless its ten cents cheaper over there...

There is a major difference between "gouging" and pushing to restrict the 2A. Prices are set by supply and demand, and yes, that means at some points prices are going to be very high, but its not "gouging", on the other hand, supporting bans should be a reason to boycott, and I have not been into Dicks for years because of that.

No one was talking about $$$ ?
I am over 50 and I have never been in a Dick's period! cattle outnumber people in my "hood", major corps are not going to build here because of that!
So should the zero in my "hood" apply? Or the Soccer DAD/MOM apply?

….

Fast forward to now, Gun is in his closet, and he could careless about gun rights. That goes the same with 10’s of thousands of new gun owners that year here in Seattle. So my point is Gun Owners are a very diverse group. And that’s a great thing!

He is not diverse, he is a situational and conditional gun owner at best.

There are too many other places to get the same things from and forgoing doing business with Dick's. I never found them useful prior to their activist stance, with the exception of an off color comment I made that came back to bite. My kid was going on 3 years old and could already read. He saw the sign and asked what it was. I told him it's his mom's favorite store.

FFWD a year or 2...the kid, wife and myself are taking my mom and dad out to eat. Pass the sign and the kid blurts out "mommy's favorite store. Mommy loves Dick's" oops.

He's 11 now and nobody in that car has forgotten.

Dick's casino started going downhill 30+ years ago. Yhe one a quarter mile from my house used to sell pistols, reloading supplies. Mini 14, AR rifles and had a layaway program. They have lost my business a long time ago. Their current anti 2a is just icing on the cake.

I still walk through the local one as there is plenty of parking near the entrance but have not spent a single $ there in the last 6 years or so. Plan on keeping the same pattern in the future as the store has zero firearms related items anymore. No need in my life for overpriced Chinese clothing and footware either.
