Hey guys:

I'm trying to find a good on-line source for wool pants, blankets, etc. for hunting and camping.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

Sportsmans Guide carries quite a few wool products for great prices. Mainly military surplus. I have bought Swiss blankets, German Naval sweater, Dutch Army sweater, Iraeli Army sweater from them. the quality has been good. I have seen them offer wool pants, shirts and many other countries wool blankets.

Hard to beat wool for warmth, even when wet.

Goodwill! It's the only place I buy wool and I find all sorts of screaming deals! I hunted elk this year in a pair of dark green 100% wool trousers and with two wool sweaters on, a light one under a heavy one. Both in earthy tones. That's my hunting garb, and I didn't pay more than a combined $20 for it. Especially this time of year, as people are cleaning out winter-weight clothing, it's a great time to look for stuff. The racks, at least at a well-run thriftstore, are usually pretty color- and size-organized, so it's easy enough to browse.

Depending on your budget, woolrich may be a good source. Otherwise, as the above poster said, Goodwill.

You can also find other relevant hunting garb at the Goodwill, such as Underarmor-type exercise clothing, boots, backpacks, etc. The one closest to me is a block from my credit union, so I just pop in from time to time when I'm in the neighborhood. Frankly, I'd recommend the Goodwill for all of your clothing needs! I haven't bought new in years and dress exactly as I want to for a fraction of retail.

Right now I'm wearing a 100% wool, made-in-Oregon, great condition, beautiful Pendleton Woolen Mills brand sweater. How much? $8.00! Can't beat that!
