Are there any gun shops in the Vancouver area that you consider top-notch?

I just had a cancellation from one, and would like to fill the gap.

Thanks for any replies.

I've used Allison & Cary Gun Works, 17311 SE Stark, Portland, OR. (503) 256-5166. They have quite a shop and the personnel are knowledgable. I shoot left handed and had a new Browning over-under, they bent the stock so that it aligned better for a left handed shooter. They also have done some work on my Browning lever.

I've used The Powder Horn out in Forest Grove as well, although they're a bit out of the way.

2835 19th St.
Suite 45-70
(503) 357-4570

There's also Phoenix Armory in Oregon City, al;though I've never been in.

402 Beavercreek Rd.
(503)655-4086

Whatever you do, stay away from The Gun Room. Just my personal observation, but the guy is a jerk.

Thanks for the replies.

The shops mentioned are in Oregon, though. Aren't there any good shops in Vancouver, WA?

I had Allison and Cary fix a stripped scope mount hole on my rifles receiver. They were very knowledgeable and friendly with good, prompt service and a fair price. They are certified for warranty repair work for a number of manufacturers. I didn't pay a lot of attention to the "gunstore" part, but I would trust them with any 'smithing in the future.
