Local neighbor Grace Lee used her revolver to turn away a robbery suspect on her property.

On Aug. 22 around 4 pm, Coarsegold resident Grace Lee received a phone call from a concerned neighbor who had seen a man sitting down by the creek on Grace's property.

Grace called 911, informing them of the suspect, then retrieved her .38 revolver. The officer instructed her to lock her doors and windows and to stay inside.

Her neighbor called Grace back letting her know that the suspicious man was coming towards Grace's house, while her neighbor kept the man within the sights of his own rifle.

When the suspect came within 50 feet from her home,Grace drew her gun and told the man, "Turn around, go back where you came from or I'm gonna shoot you."

The suspect replied, "Yes Ma'am" and did exactly that.

Moments later Deputy Jacobson and saw Grace with her sidearm. He asked her if she was "a good shot," which Grace told him she was. He instructed her to let him shoot first if needed, and they went together down to the creek. The suspicious man was arrested without incident.

Allegedly, this man has done time for similar crimes and was on parole. No handgun was found on the suspect at the time of his arrest.

Grace Lee Whitney moved to Coarsegold seven years ago. Being a Hollywood star, Grace is no stranger to stalkers, and knows the importance of self defense. In her own words,"women should not be afraid of guns, but instead be prepared."

Looks like good work by all involved.

It looks like the story ran in the Coarsegold Yelp, a tiny monthly newspaper in Madero County, CA. (https://secure.xo.com/cnpa.xohost.com/forms/monthly.asp)

I don't know who Grace Lee, the Hollywood star is. www.imdb.com lists four; all are strictly small-time.
