Even on the '72 Open Top ( or any of the factory conversions), an action shield helps keep the action basically sealed. Never a need to go into the permanently lubed action.


Tapered ejector rods make getting rid of spent cases faster and easier.

This one has been adjusted for full case length ejection.

The flat ejector rod heads that come on the factory version can be made much more efficient by cutting a recess in it.

I saw plans for a homebuilt muzzleloader fired by a model airplane glow plug. I don't recall if anything was said about lock time.

Gun Digest published an article about this in the 60s(?). The glow plugs lasted about 20 shots.
