I have a SR 22P and so far it has been an outstanding pistol. I has feed, shot and ejected everything I have feed it, including Remington Golden Bullets which are, at best, marginal in most for reliability in most semis.
The only issue I have with it is the way the recoil spring MUST fit to the recoil guide rod. It does not just slide on and you are done, but you must turn it until it catches on the rod. Not a major thing, but it is annyoying.
The cure for me was to purchase a steel guide rod WITH the spring permentlly captured from Galloway Precision. Long term will tell if it does (as claimed) increase the reliability, but is has decreased my time spent cleaning the little pistol in just time spent on the old spring/guide rod set up.

Get it now. Mine is a blast in every way. Bulk ammo is it's natural food. But for God's sake, not the purple....

Hello all: I purchased an SR22 for my dtrs. to use in June/2012. It turned out to be such a fun gun, I picked up another one for me this June. Both feed every 22lr that we have tried in it, from bulk packs to mini mags.
    Get one and enjoy it.

    As always, stay safe.

I mostly bought my SR22 to replace a pot metal POS Phoenix Arms HP22 which is pretty accurate for a pocket sized gun, but has had lots of zinc gun problems. The pistols are sort of a fishing companion/kit gun for me, but the Ruger is solid and serves as a plinker. I've got something over 2000 rounds through the HP22, don't like to shoot it because it just doesn't hold up to the punishment. I figure that Ruger will outlast my grandkid.

Guns shot not be made of zinc alloy.

Love my SR-22. All I'd add is the trigger is nothing to brag about, but they shoot any ammo and are pretty accurate little guns.

Light, cheap, solid, reliable, and sized to carry easily....can't go wrong.

    I couldn't resist,,,
I bought the Raspberry colored version.

I've had it for over a month now,,,
I've fed it 6-7 different types of ammunition,,,
So far it's eaten everything I've stuffed into it's magazines.

I just got tired of black or stainless as the only options,,,
It's just a range toy so I figured what the heck,,,
But several men at the range have tried it,,,
All Y-Chromosomes are still intact. ;)

Bought the sr22 in raspberry for my girlfriend. She loved the way it felt and shot so much she ruled out other guns for her CCW.

I didn't even try to debate what is and isn't a good defensive caliber. All I know is that I have a girlfriend that loves to go to the range and practice with her concealed weapon and it is reliable with many types of ammo....and its cheap.

The way I see it.....if somebody is looking for trouble. They will most likely change their minds when she gives them the raspberry!:neener::neener:

    Okay,,,
    You did it now,,,
There aughta be a tax on puns. :p

Good on you for supporting your girlfriend's choice,,,
.22 LR is not ideal for self defense purposes,,,
But 10 Mini Mags flying my direction,,,
    Would quickly change my attitude.

+1 on the SR22. my wife's eats pretty much anything that gets put in it.

On a side note, I have 3 22 auto pistols that eat everything I can find.
    SR22
    Buckmark
    Browning 1911-22

between these three there's a 22 for every size and strength hand in my family.

I've gotten rid of everything else that was ammo sensitive.
